There exists a wide array of places to reside in Grand Teton National Park. However, if one wishes to stay within this national park located in Wyoming, advanced booking is necessary. Although Grand Teton sometimes receives less attention than the world-renowned Yellowstone National Park that borders it to the north, lodging within Grand Teton National Park often fills up during peak travel seasons. Yet, fret not; there are some towns near the park that present excellent options to reside in Grand Teton and where securing affordable lodging is also simpler.

During a 10-day excursion to Grand Teton and Yellowstone after eagerly anticipating visiting them on my 10-day West Coast USA road trip, I can assure you that it is worth seeing both parks and spending no less than one or two nights in Grand Teton.

Grand Teton is a paradise for those interested in landscape photography and enjoying breathtaking views framed by the Teton mountain range, where Grand Teton towers at 13,775 ft. There are many options available in Grand Teton National Park, so visitors should prepare lodging at Grand Teton without hesitation.

Where to stay in Grand Teton National Park

Accommodations located within Grand Teton National Park charge higher prices than lodgings surrounding the protected area, but remaining there makes it easier to access spectacular locations. What is important to keep in mind is that many lodging options in Grand Teton are only accessible for part of the year, and spots tend to fill up several months in advance during peak travel seasons.

Old Faithful Snow Lodge is one of the few accommodations in Yellowstone available during winter months. However, it is closed in March, April, May, and November.

This is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Grand Teton for families and if participating in activities such as kayaking on the lake, hiking, or horseback riding is of interest. Please note that it’s only open during the summer and it`s necessary to book in advance.

Jackson Lake Lodge, the best hotel in Grand Teton National Park

Among the hotels located near the Grand Teton National Park, the Jackson Lake Lodge is undeniably one of the most well-known options. It offers incredible views of the Teton Mountain Range and Jackson Lake, which is why some travelers make a point to stop here even if they are not staying the night. Additionally, there are three dining establishments and an outdoor swimming pool on the resort grounds. Note that it is only open between the months of May and October.

Jenny Lake Lodge, another good place to stay in Grand Teton

Among the lodging in Grand Teton, there is Jenny Lake Lodge, a luxuriant hotel inside Grand Teton National Park. The resort encompasses several rustic wooden houses in a remote setting at the base of the Teton Mountains.

Many trails for hiking begin in this region. In addition, the resort loans bicycles that you can utilize on the nearby pathway for cycling. You can also choose to ride on horseback or explore the three glacial lakes in the vicinity, which include Jenny Lake, Leigh Lake, and String Lake.

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch

Headwaters Lodge & Cabins at Flagg Ranch is the best lodging alternative between Grand Teton and Yellowstone, as it’s situated on the northern edge of the park.

Remember that there’s no mobile service or Wi-Fi connection in the hotel, a further advantage if you’re looking to disconnect and reconnect with nature. As it’s in such a remote area, it is easier to see bears, moose, and bison here.

Signal Mountain Lodge, another option for where to stay in Grand Teton

Signal Mountain Lodge is another option for where to stay in Grand Teton. These log cabins are in an excellent location, on the shores of Jackson Lake. Some have a fireplace and others have lake views. In any case, it’s one of the best places to sleep in Grand Teton National Park.

Nearby lies Signal Mountain, where spectacular panoramic views can be obtained. We stayed at the adjoining campsite and were fascinated by it. It’s a location that I recommend spending time in Grand Teton.

Jackson Hole, the best place to sleep near Grand Teton

If you want lodging near Grand Teton, Jackson Hole represents the most chosen alternative. It contains many accommodations at a lower price than those within the park itself and even has its own airport, despite its small size. Many travelers arrive at Grand Teton from Jackson Hole.

Additionally, eateries are more assorted and reasonably priced than those inside the park, and grocery stores are simpler to find, so stocking up in Jackson Hole before exploring Grand Teton may be a sensible choice.

Rustic Inn Creekside, one of the best luxury hotels in Grand Teton

This luxurious lodging is, without question, the best option to stay in Grand Teton just outside the park bounds. All areas overlook the National Elk Refuge, where, in supplementary to deer, you can see much of the wildlife you’ll too find at Grand Teton. If you haven’t found lodging within Grand Teton National Park but want to sleep within the park, this is your best option.

The Lexington at Jackson Hole, the best apartments in Grand Teton

If traveling with family to Grand Teton, the Lexington at Jackson Hole is an ideal lodging choice. It includes complete apartments with living and dining areas. Additionally, it offers free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, and an indoor pool.

This lodging is found near downtown Jackson but also on the route leading out to the notable Grand Teton National Park, making it a suitable accommodation choice for anyone visiting the park.

Elk Country Inn, a great place to stay near Grand Teton

Elk Country Inn is situated within walking distance of downtown Jackson, rendering it a suitable lodging near Grand Teton if one desires eateries and bars in close proximity.

Nevertheless, the location is peaceful which is ideal for outdoor meals during the summertime for visitors remaining in one of the wooden lodges .

Moran, another option for where to stay in Grand Teton

Moran is a community situated at the eastern access point to the park. Some of the most spectacular views in Grand Teton, such as the winding channel of the Snake River known as Oxbow Bend, can be seen here. It is undoubtedly the best option for lodging near Grand Teton since it’s practically identical to staying within the limits of the park itself.

The only disadvantage is that Moran doesn’t have that many lodgings, so rooms sell out right away and visitors need to book many months in advance.

Heart Six Ranch, a popular accommodation in Grand Teton

Heart Six Ranch is merely 10 minutes from the park, rendering it a highly favored place to lodge in Grand Teton. It’s also one of the earliest ranches in the United States. You must make a reservation months ahead if wanting to stay in one of its suites, which are decorated with indigenous motifs.

Buffalo Valley Ranch, an original accommodation in Grand Teton

Buffalo Valley Ranch is a distinctive accommodation in Grand Teton. This farm, situated beside the earlier one, has antique wagons, inside which they have positioned everything required to create it the superior accommodation in Grand Teton for families. It also has Native American tents and trappers’ cabins that are over 100 years of age.

If you’re searching for an unique lodging option in Grand Teton, this is definitely an accommodation that I recommend. Of course, keep in mind that none of the rooms on this ranch have private bathrooms. Guests will need to share facilities.

The Hatchet Resort, a hotel in Grand Teton that I recommend

The Hatchet Resort consists of wooden lodges located in an earlier Western-style setting. It sits very near to the entrance of Grand Teton National Park and is a fine choice if you’re traveling with your family.

It has a restaurant and a bar. It also has a gas station, so it’s a place to reside near Grand Teton National Park that I recommend.

Togwotee Mountain Lodge, a good place to sleep in Grand Teton

While the Togwotee Mountain Lodge is slightly farther east, it’s only 20 minutes from the park entrance, making it still a viable option for lodging in Grand Teton.

This hotel provides charming log cabins at an affordable price point, contributing to it being one of the exceptional options among establishments in Grand Teton on a budget. It has an on-site grill restaurant and tavern serving local beers. If traveling with a furry companion, it`s also a good choice since all rooms welcome pets.

Camping at Grand Teton National Park offered a unique experience I was fortunate to participate in. The park features 6 campgrounds with nearly 700 sites for tents and RVs. Some of the most popular are those situated along the shores of the spectacular lakes found within the park. We stayed at Signal Mountain Campground, which provided lovely vistas of Jackson Lake.

All sites are allocated on a first-arrival, first-served basis, so no pre-booking is necessary. Note that Grand Teton National Park campgrounds are only accessible during the summer months. You can view the costs and opening dates here.

Additionally, there are plenty of backcountry camping areas if you intend to undertake multi-day hikes surrounding Grand Teton.
