This unique dining establishment cooks its meals using the natural heat emanating from the volcanic fumaroles—an unforgettable experience that will leave you speechless.

To arrive here, you’ll need to follow the trail starting from El Golfo’s parking area, and you’ll find a panoramic viewpoint at the trail’s end. If you continue along the same path, you can descend to the beach, but I suggest exercising caution as the currents can be quite powerful.

However, what makes Playa Blanca so well known is its proximity to Playa Papagayo, an incredible shoreline situated in an one of a kind common condition that you essentially need to go to. This location was declared a Cultural Treasure, as these salt flats were established during a pivotal moment in the Canarian economy, aiming to protect fish that was going to be sold in the ports. The extraction process here utilizes a method based on natural volcanic rocks, while windmills facilitate the optimal ripening of the salt.

I suggest visiting at dusk to see spectacular perspectives of the flooded salt flats when the reflections and colors of the sky shape a captivating and picturesque scene.

12. Los Charcones, a unique place to visit in Yaiza, Lanzarote

To attain Los Charcones, you’ll need to drive approximately 7.5 miles from Yaiza, with the final stretch of the roadway being a somewhat rough dirt track. However, don’t worry, because you don`t require a specialized vehicle to arrive. Once you get there, you’ll see an abandoned hotel from where you can descend to the pools.

Alternatively, for more active visitors, there is a hiking option starting from the bolded Pechiguera Lighthouse, which will take approximately one hour.

13. El Cuervo Volcano, a must-see place in Yaiza for adventurers

Visiting the Cuervo Volcano is one of the prime activities to engage in while in Yaiza, especially if you enjoy hiking or simply wish to take a walk through the Volcanoes Natural Park. This is one of the most popular volcanoes located in Lanzarote, thanks to a trail that presents no major challenges while offering stunning scenery along the way.

At the end of the trail, you’ll come upon La Caldera de los Cuervos, a natural phenomenon with a depth of 115 feet—a truly awe-inspiring sight that should not be missed.

While exploring independently is possible, we opted to go on a guided tour of Timanfaya National Park. We were very satisfied with our experience. Our guide not only shared valuable insights into the park`s history, but also allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the stunning landscapes. By going with a guide, we could set aside maps and solely focus on enjoying the walk—an experience I highly recommend.

When we included it in a trip to Lanzarote, we were pleasantly amazed. We had expected it to be just one of those excessively vacationer populated places without charm, but we found ourselves rather at ease and discovered numerous enjoyable activities in Puerto del Carmen.

To begin, La Bodega de Santiago stands as one of the top-ratedeateries in Yaiza, Lanzarote, offering traditional and Mediterranean cuisine. If exploring classic goat dishes or other meats with both domestic and foreign origins appeals, do not hesitate to make a reservation here. Additionally, this restaurant is housed in a two-century-old Canarian home, rendering it one of the most authentically traditional restaurants on the island.

Unwinding in the balmy waters of the Secret Lagoon is one of my favorite diversions along the Golden Circle route. Although considered Iceland`s oldest swimming spot, only locals frequented it until recent years. But a nearby farmer purchased the land, right in the Golden Circle`s heart, to furnish new changing rooms and showers and spread awareness among visitors. Now it rates as one of Iceland`s most popular thermal pools.

My final suggestion targets those looking to experience fine cuisine. To embark on this culinary journey, head over to the town of Playa Blanca, where you’ll discover one of the premier dining locations in Yaiza: Eatery Kamezí Deli & Bistro.

Your evening begins with a tour of their garden and kitchen area, followed by a menu featuring fresh seasonal ingredients which can include 9 to 12 courses. While the pricing is not inexpensive, they consistently offer customers high quality service and unique dishes. Undoubtedly, it stands out as one of the best restaurants in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.
