Where to Stay in Amsterdam with Kids
- One of my preferred neighborhoods in Amsterdam is the Jordaan district, and the Linden hotel is an excellent choice for families in that area. However, anything located within the Singelgracht canal – which roughly divides central Amsterdam from the outer parts – is convenient and suitable for families.
- Vondelpark is the prime park in Amsterdam for children. It contains a well-equipped playground and expansive spaces for running and exploring. It is within walking distance or a brief tram ride of most hotels in central Amsterdam.
- Getting around the city by renting bicycles is enjoyable. MacBike has a broad selection and multiple locations. Bike City is my preferred choice and good if wanting bikes without advertising graphics extensively depicted on them. .
- Memorable Evening Out: Obtain pizza from De Pizzabakkers and beer from Cafe Brandon next door. Sit along the canal with the locals and eat and drink into the night. Extremely enjoyable experience.
- Highly Recommended: Take an overnight bike trip from Amsterdam to Edam, then ferry from Volendam back through Marken. It`s a perfect length for families with children 8 or older. The Hotel & Restaurant De Fortuna, beautifully situated on a Edam canal, is ideal. Rent bikes from Bike City in Amsterdam.
