The primary town on Ios (The Chora) is a brief 5 minute bus ride or a steep 20 minute walk – and there you’ll find a beautiful traditional Greek village, with some great dining establishments, and a highly active nightlife. Best Hotels near Chora
Yialos Ios Hotel
This family-run hotel close to both the ferry port and the restaurants and nightlife of Chora provides triple and quadruple rooms well-suited for families. There is a nice beach in nearby proximity as well. It is about a 15-minute walk or brief bus ride to the center of Chora.
Agalia Luxury Suites – Chora
A luxurious retreat located in a remote area. The harbor is 1 mile away and the city center about 2.5 miles. Two excellent beaches with little disturbance are within walking distance. Four of the fourteen suites include private pools. The multi-bedroom villas are perfect for families and small gatherings seeking space.

A highly rated lodging with an elegant pool area and spectacular panoramas from its hilltop location. The sole caveat is the steep descent to Mylopotas Beach or the main village, though a longer but less steep route also connects to both. Guests likely rely quite a bit on the bus system due to the notable climbs.
