Ā Tips for Staying in Frisco
Make Reservations
Frisco Adventure Park has many free activities in summer that donāt require reservations, but their winter activities are a different story. Youāll want to make reservations for tubing well in advance. If youāre interested in a dinner or hot cocoa sleigh ride, book that in advance as well.

Stay Hydrated
Frisco is just above 9,000 feet high, and you definitely need to stay hydrated! People can get easily dehydrated in the winter when theyāre not as inclined to drink water as when itās hot outside. Make sure you have plenty of water or other hydrating beverages, regardless of the temperature.Ā
Get Acclimated
It can take a day or two to adjust to 9,000 feet above sea level. If youāre planning on strenuous activities, give yourself a day or two to adjust before you tackle them. Start out skiing by taking it easy and then challenge yourself if youāre feeling good. Be gentle with yourself!
Watch for Wildlife
Frisco and other areas of Summit County have bears, moose, elk, and other wildlife. Theyāre cool to see while youāre hiking, but be careful out there! Every so often, we hear stories of people being charged by elk or moose.
Use the ārule of thumbā to determine if youāre too close ā stretch your hand in front of you and put up your thumb. It should cover the entire animal.Ā
Wear Sunscreen
Sunscreen is another area where chilly winter temps can trick us! Be sure to wear sunscreen even in winter ā in fact, especially in winter when the snow can reflect the sunās rays and make sunburns even more likely.
