Visitors have been making their way to Chattanooga in East Tennessee for years to see the attractions at Lookout Mountain.Β
While Lookout Mountain is technically just across the Georgia state line, going to Ruby Falls and Rock City Gardens is one of the highlights of visiting Chattanooga. The Chattanooga National Military Park and the Incline Railway are also located on Lookout Mountain.Β
Within the city of Chattanooga, thereβs even more to explore. The Tennessee Aquarium is one of the best aquariums in the United States. The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is also popular with visitors. Chattanooga is so much fun to visit with kids, but itβs a cool mountain town to experience even without kids.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park in the United States. Itβs also one of the largest national parks because it encompasses over half a million acres. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and contains hundreds of hiking trails.
If youβd rather take a scenic drive through the park instead of a hike, thatβs an option, too. When the cars in front of you slow down, that could be a signal someone has spotted a black bear. Iβve yet to see a black bear in the park myself, but theyβre definitely there.
