Tips for Staying in Evergreen, CO
Youβll Want A Car
Part of Evergreenβs charm is that it feels secluded in the mountains while being fairly close to downtown Denver. But itβs not close enough to easily get back and forth without a car. Youβll want your own wheels to get from Denver to Evergreen, and if you want to do any hiking, mountain biking, or exploring of nearby towns, youβll want a vehicle.
If youβre renting a car for your visit, try Discover Cars. They compare prices on top rental companies to find you the best deal for your trip!
Stay Hydrated
Evergreen sits at 7,165 feet above sea level. The dry climate and thin air mean youβll want to drink plenty of water while youβre here! Itβs also likely youβll be doing a lot of exercising β hiking or paddleboarding or enjoying other outdoor activities. Get a good-sized water bottle and carry it around with you everywhere!
π Pro tip: If you could use a new water bottle, check out the Grayl Geopress, a go-to recommendation on Travel Lemming!
Get Out Early
During summer, it can get busy on the lake and on popular hiking trails, but youβre less likely to encounter crowds early in the morning. This not only makes activities a little more enjoyable, but it ensures you can find a parking spot at the trailhead or at the lake. This tip actually holds true for a lot of popular Colorado spots!
Bring Layers
A beautiful summer day can quickly turn chilly in the mountains! On the opposite end, a cold winter day can warm up quickly if the sun comes out. Bring plenty of layers if youβre planning to be out hiking or spending lots of time outdoors. Also, be sure to check Abigailβs Colorado packing list of things you should bring on a trip to Colorado!
