When you spend a night out on the town in Mexico City, you probably want to hit any place that’s ranked as one of the best bars in North America. One of the ideal places to start is the LGBTQ+ friendly Hanky Panky Cocktail Bar.
Located in the Juarez neighborhood, Hanky Panky has an allure of cool. The walls are lined with every booze you can imagine, and the bartenders always put on a great show. You really can’t go wrong with a night at Hanky Panky.
Parker & Lenox
An industrial-style bar with live music in Juarez .

Parker & Lenox is also located in the party neighborhood of Juarez. You’ll find that the Juarez neighborhood, in particular, is one of the best neighborhoods in Mexico City for local nightlife.
Parker & Lenox is a better stop for people who are looking for some delicious food to go along with Mexico City’s nightlife. They serve up tasty burgers and other bar comfort foods you might not expect to find in the Mexican Capital. They have live music every night they’re open, so it’s a great place to catch some performances.
Licoreria Limantour
A famous spot in Roma Norte ranked as the 6th best bar in the entire world .

Licoreria Limantour is probably the most famous bar in Mexico City altogether. They whip up incredibly delicious and one-of-a-kind cocktails.
I’d go for the Purple Sky or Penicillin. When the drinks arrive at your table, they’re so pretty that it’s almost a shame to sip them down. In addition to fantastic drinks, Licoreria Limantour boasts an organized and upscale bar space. It makes you really relax while spending your evening there.
If you’re a big nightlife person, Licoreria Limantour is just one of those bars that you have to fit into your Mexico City itinerary at least once.

La Clandestina
A cute, cozy establishment with a variety of mezcals in Colonia La Condesa .

When you take your very first trip to CDMX (or even your hundredth) you want to try all the Mexico City food and drink staples. When it comes to nightlife, that’s mezcal.
A perfect place to drop in and get a taste of the local mezcal is La Clandestina. This one is situated on the edge of the Colonia La Condesa neighborhood, right near Roma Norte.
The establishment has a nice tucked-away, comfortable vibe to it. It really feels like a true Mexico City bar with brick walls and thought-provoking little art pieces scattered about. You’ll hear bits of traditional Mexican music throughout the night. Best of all, there’s a bounty of tasty mezcal-based drinks to try.
👉 Pro Tip: La Clandestina is open until the early hours of the morning every night except Sundays when they’re closed.
Bósforo
A tried and true bar scene with scrumptious eats located in the Juárez district.

Bósforo is a two-story bar with a lot of good reasons to visit. First of all, you can find a bunch of local treats at this spot, like chapulines and quesadillas. It’s a great place to eat in Mexico City.
Secondly, they have a great selection of libations to choose from. They have a bunch of different mezcal and tequila cocktails. There are also plenty of beer options for the lager lovers.
The only downside about Bósforo is that it tends to get a little packed at night. Since it’s a pretty small space, only people who can deal with crowds should visit Bósforo.
Xaman Bar
A mystifying speakeasy featuring a cool space and creative cocktails in Zona Rosa.

If you’re up for a night that’s more on the mysterious side, Xaman Bar is the place to be. It’s located in the Juarez neighborhood, right near Paseo de la Reforma.
It’s a speakeasy-style establishment with low light and ambiance to match that title. Going in really feels like you’ve stepped through a little-known portal to a secret world of festivity. It’s cool without being overly cliche.
👉 Pro Tip: Xaman Bar is within walking distance from Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City. So, it’s the perfect opportunity to hit both spots in one day.
Patrick Miller
A big, high-energy nightclub with food options in Roma.

While the name might seem strange for a Mexico City club, Patrick Miller is actually one of the best clubs around. If you’re hungry for a night of dancing on your Mexico City trip, this is the place to go.
Patrick Miller has an enormous dance floor with plenty of room for you to get your boogie on. Plus, the cover fee and beers are very cheap.
You’ll never stop moving once you walk in the door, so you might need to make a stop at a Mexico City coffee shop in the morning to recharge.
👉 Pro Tip: Be warned, the music played every night goes by a decade. From the 1980s-2000s. You won’t really find much electronic music or salsa dancing if that’s what you’re aiming for. Pulqueria los Insugrerentes
A lively, traditional establishment with pulque and live music in the Roma Norte neighborhood.

One of the things you have to try on a trip to Mexico City is the local pulque. It’s an alcoholic drink made from fermented sap. It might sound weird, but trust me, it’s a must-try. So, make sure you work in a stop to Pulqueria los Insurgrerentes to give it a shot.
Pulqueria los Insurgentes is located in the Mexico City neighborhood of Roma. It’s a popular spot for getting your party on. It’s a terrific place for taking in the local culture and nightlife without breaking your Mexico City budget.
Everything on the menu is really affordable, and the hostesses can help you pick out the best thing if you’re unfamiliar with pulque.

Mexico City has an abundance of rooftop bars that allow you to fully appreciate the incredible capital city’s skyline. One of my favorite rooftop bars in CDMX is Balmori Roofbar. The easygoing club has a lot of room and big tables that are perfect for larger parties.
There’s lots of space for everyone to drink and sometimes even DJs playing music. It’s a cool spot for young people to spend one of their evenings. For hot nights in the summer, there’s no better spot to cool off and drink up than Balmori.
Maison Artemisia
A cocktail bar with a bunch of interesting choices like absinthe and arsenal mezcal in Roma Norte.

Maison Artemisia is a sophisticated yet funky cocktail bar that caters to young professionals. They have a super fun cocktail menu featuring specialties like espresso martinis and the amor ausente with absinthe.
You can party into the wee hours of the morning at Maison Artemisia. They’re open until 2 AM every day, except on Mondays when they’re totally closed.
FELINA
A retro-esque cocktail bar with dozens of tasty drinks and snacks in La Condesa.

The thing I like about FELINA is that they have pages and pages of options to choose from. There are wines, agave drinks, creme liquors, vodkas, gins, whiskeys, beer, and more. It’s a nice little bar for young adults.
With their hundreds of different alcohol options, they brew so many beautiful and yummy cocktails. My favorite is the Escandon Cocktail.
Then, when you’re sufficiently buzzed, you don’t have to go anywhere else for food. They have tasty little cheese plates that come in a few different sizes. It’s a one-stop shop for a night out.
Jardin Juarez
A nature-lovers nightlife dream located right in the Juárez neighborhood.

Jardin Juarez is a Zona Rosa bar that totally lives up to Mexico City’s leafy green reputation. The place is filled with plants and it gives the bar a real home-y feel. Like you’re just sitting down for a glass of wine in your friend’s garden. It’s a completely unique place among the other nightlife in Mexico City.
In addition to having a great range of colorful cocktails and lots of beers, they also have an extensive food menu. There are dinner, brunch, and even breakfast options at Jardin Juarez. So, no matter what time you party in Mexico City, you’ll always be fed here.

La Xampa
A restaurant/bar with stunning architecture and beautifully crafted drinks near Parque México.

Do you know those big, flamboyant drinks that you find in places like Los Angeles and Manhattan? The ones that feature a whole section of pineapple or a tuft of blue cotton candy? That’s the type of drink artistry that you’ll find at La Xampa in Mexico City. If these types of wild, out-there drinks aren’t your thing, they also have all the classics.
La Xampa is located only a few blocks away from Parque Mexico, one of the many luscious parks in Mexico City. It’s right in Condesa, which is an optimal location near a lot of the best places to stay in Mexico City.

Similar to pulque, another popular Mexican specialty is their mezcal. Trying the mezcal is one of the top things to do in Mexico Cityif you’re a first-timer. One of the best places to try it is from Tlachiquero Mezcal. They’re one of the most affordable bars in the city and they have all the mezcal you could ever ask for.
Limantour Polanco
A chill spot with outdoor tables and lots of tequila in Polanco .

Limantour Polanco is a stylish little spot serving inventive cocktails with mezcal and tequila. My go-to’s are the Jamaica mezcal and the Patron colada. They also have some small bites to eat, like tacos and spring rolls. It’s a simple but effective establishment for having a fun night in Mexico City.

La Opera has a huge menu that features all the classic drinks like bloody marys and Manhattans. Plus, they also have a few different antojitos Mexicanos like chicken tacos and mole enchiladas.
Best of all, La Opera is located in the historic center, right by all the major Mexico City landmarks. So, you can spend the day learning about Mexican history and the night at the club.
