This famed Las Vegas boulevard does not disappoint, featuring many notable things to experience along the Las Vegas Strip. As mentioned in my article on the top things to do in Las Vegas, the Strip spans four miles lined with casinos, hotels, and endless entertainment.

There are all forms of things to see in the Las Vegas Strip, and we continue finding something novel each time we return to this area. Even if the party atmosphere isn’t your style, there are other intriguing sites and attractions that I`m certain you`ll enjoy.

To make optimum usage of your time, I propose procuring the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass. It’s regarded as the prime citypass in Las Vegas and includes over 45 attractions, so it’s a superb deal. Another choice is acquiring a hop-on hop-off bus pass, which is one of the most handy modes of transportation in Vegas and takes you past many of the top attractions.

While this guide focuses on the best attractions on the Las Vegas Strip, I’ll also share some accommodation options. This is one of the best areas to stay in Sin City, so be sure to check out our guide on the top hotels on the Las Vegas Strip!

1. See the Bellagio Fountains, one of the best things to do in Las Vegas on the Strip

The Bellagio is one of the finest hotels in Las Vegas, even though you don’t have to book a room here to enjoy its complimentary light show.

The Bellagio Fountains show is a must-see on the Las Vegas Strip, and you have plenty of chances to see it. The performance runs every 15-30 minutes starting at 3 p.m., with different variations throughout the afternoon and evening.

Situated right outside The Bellagio resort, the fountains feature thousands of water sprayers and jets synchronized to music and special lighting effects. The water can shoot up to 460 feet high, and there are virtually endless combinations of movements based on the music that’s playing.

While you`re here, visiting the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden is also worthwhile considering. This is another free thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip, and a great attraction suitable for all age groups. The conservatory is full of lovely blooms, tropical plants, and seasonal displays, so you`ll see something novel each time you visit.

2. Climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the best thing to do on the Vegas Strip as a couple

If you’re searching for activities to engage in on the Las Vegas Strip for couples, I recommend visiting the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas Hotel. This romantic attraction is perfect for date night, and while you won’t be in France, you’ll be able to enjoy the glittering lights of the Strip.

Las Vegas’ Tour Eiffel is a half-sized replica standing 46 stories tall, offering gorgeous panoramic views. This observation deck is perfect for viewing The Bellagio Fountains show or sweeping perspectives of Sin City and the surrounding mountains.

a tall tower with a clock on top

You’ll take a panoramic elevator up to the zenith, where you can circulate on the al fresco balcony. It`s one of the most sentimental activities to partake in Las Vegas as a pair, and you can even indulge in a gourmet meal here at one of Vegas’ finest restaurants.

That stated, this Las Vegas Strip attraction is also quite striking from street level, particularly after dark. The Eiffel Tower features many synchronized multi-colored LEDs and strobe lighting which flash and coordinate during the nightly light presentation. It’s free to watch, but if you want to access the top of the Eiffel Tower, you’ll need a ticket. You can obtain yours ahead of time here or utilize your Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass.

3. Take a gondola ride, a romantic thing to do on the Strip in Las Vegas

Experiencing a gondola experience is another entertaining thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip with your partner. The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian retreat is one of the most striking attractions in Sin City, providing high-end shops, free performances, and romantic gondola rides.

Imagine yourself carried off to the charming canals of Venice, Italy, and delighting at the architectural replicas of the Rialto Bridge and other Italian landmarks. Your gondolier will maneuver your boat past shops and restaurants, as well through an outside section where you can gain views of the Strip.

This recreational activity comes with a higher price tag, but if you’re seeking a distinctive thing to do on the Strip or want to surprise your partner with a boat cruise set to music, it may be worthwhile. You can book your ticket ahead of time here or combine your gondola ride with Madame Tussauds by purchasing this bundled ticket.

4. Ride the High Roller, a fun thing to do on the Strip in Vegas with kids

If you’re seeking kid-pleasant activities to partake in on the Vegas Strip, check out the LINQ Promenade. Here, you’ll find cafΓ©s, engagements, and stores, rendering it an enjoyable location to tour in Las Vegas through the day.

The most popular attraction at the LINQ Promenade is the High Roller observation wheel, and at 550 feet tall, you can’t miss it! Even if you do not enjoy significant heights, I still advise riding the High Roller because you’ll get the most amazing panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.

Each cabin on the observational wheel can hold 40 people. It takes approximately 30 minutes for the entire wheel to rotate once, and seating is provided so you can rest and enjoy the scenery. Additionally, if you ride the High Roller at night, you’ll see the entire Strip fully illuminated.

Of course, riding on this attraction among the most popular on the Las Vegas Strip, so I suggest pre-booking your ticket in advance.

5. Try the slots at a casino, a popular thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip

A trip to the famous Las Vegas would not be complete without visiting one or more casinos. Trying one`s luck at the slot machines and gaming tables is a top activity for those exploring the famous Strip, and visitors have an abundance of casino venues from which to choose.

Most of the finest casinos in Las Vegas are situated along the famous Strip, so visitors have many options to choose from. While these gambling establishments share some common traits, some are better suited than others based on individual interests, as explained in this article on the top casinos in Las Vegasa large room filled with tables and chairs

For example, the private poker rooms at The Bellagio and ARIA Resort are highly popular with wealthy gamblers. At the same time, The D Las Vegas located at the corner of the Fremont Street Experience features traditional games and the solely dancing dealers in Sin City. Circus Circus has three casinos as well as a family-friendly arcade where the kids can enjoy themselves.

From slot machines and Keno games to table games like craps and roulette, visitors will discover their preferred activities at any Las Vegas Strip casino venue. Remember to play safely and responsibly.

6. Take a helicopter tour, the best thing to do on the Vegas Strip at night

Experiencing the Strip from an observation deck or on the High Roller is cool, but what about soaring over Las Vegas Boulevard? A helicopter tour is one of the best things to do on the famed Strip in Vegas, and it was a highlight of our journey.

a city street filled with lots of tall buildings

I advise scheduling your tour during golden hour so you can appreciate beautiful sunset views when departing. Then, watch as the Strip begins illuminating and nightlife kicks off. You`ll want your camera given the helicopter`s exclusive perspectives above this renowned boulevard offer fresh scenery.

You can check out our guide finding the top Las Vegas helicopter air tours and the ones we took. That said, you can`t go wrong with this tour, which is covered in the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive 3-Day Pass. I advise opting for the evening flight for the most magical experience. Without question, it`s one of the best things to do along the Las Vegas Strip at night.

7. Ride the Big Apple Coaster, another thing to do in Las Vegas Strip with family

Another enjoyable activity on the Las Vegas Strip is riding the Big Apple Coaster at New York – New York. If you love roller coasters or have kids wanting to experience the thrill of traveling 67 mph along a steel track, this is not to be missed.

As implied by its name, the Big Apple Coaster draws inspiration from NYC. The entire New York – New York resort pays tribute to the city, and the roller coaster takes riders past replicas of iconic NYC landmarks, as well as through an interior section resembling Manhattan’s Little Italy neighborhood.

The roller coaster travels around the exterior of the hotel, quickly dropping 203 feet, and including two inversions. If that type of exciting experience appeals to you, purchase a ticket ahead of time or use your Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass.

While this attraction provides one of the most thrilling activities available on the Las Vegas Strip, the neighboring Big Apple Arcade offers a more relaxed entertainment option. It features time-honored games like skee-ball, air hockey, skill crane machines, and additional amusements.

8. Visit the Fabulous Las Vegas sign, a free thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip

Another significant attraction along the Las Vegas Strip that deserves mention is the iconic sign welcoming visitors to Fabulous Las Vegas since 1959. This sign has been greeting arrivals and it remains one of the prime photographic spots on the Strip.

  • Bella Wine Cave offers a novel underground wine tasting experience. Their vineyard specializes in small batches of Zinfandel and Rhone varietals. During our visit we conversed with two women who had recently traveled to Tanzania and inspired us to plan a once-in-a-lifetime trip for our mothers to do a safari in Tanzania, which we still fondly reminisce about.

We couldn’t help but take a picture here during our trip, even though we waited in line, it was worthwhile. Besides, it’s a cost-free Las Vegas attraction, so if you’re visiting here with your partner or family, it’s a nice way to mark your trip.

9. Check out the SkyPod and its thrill rides, an exciting thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip

While you’re ambling along the Strip, you’ll observe the SkyPodatThe STRAT. At 1,149 feet tall, it’s the greatest freestanding watchtower in the U.S., and one of the coolest venues to visit on the Las VegasStrip.

This world-renowned Las Vegas attraction offers experiences for people of all types, and can be visited during daylight hours or at nightfall. Ride the elevator near the top and behold the spectacular 360Β° perspectives of the Strip and beyond from viewing spaces on the 108th and 109th floors. There are indoor and outdoor places to see, making it a nice activity to enjoy with family while exploring the Vegas Strip.

a sculpture of a man flying a kite in the air

If visiting at night, I advise heading to the 107 SkyLounge for cocktails alongside views. You could also tour the Top of the World Restaurant, positioned 800 feet above the city in a revolving dining space.

The STRAT even has a wedding chapel where you can marry at the center of the Las Vegas Strip. Additionally, the thrill rides atop the SkyPod are wild enough to make any adrenaline seeker’s heart skip a beat. To give you an idea of these extreme attractions, one of them involves leaping from 829 feet up and falling through the air at 40 mph.

10. Fly LINQ zipline, another cool thing to do on the Strip in Las Vegas

The Fly LINQ zipline is another thrilling attraction along the Las Vegas Strip, though it does not offer as much excitement as the SkyPod rides. The zipline is part of the LINQ promenade where shops, restaurants and the High Roller can be explored.

This zip line attracts attention as it involves a series of 10 lines where individuals can fly through the atmosphere with companions or relatives. Travelers will launch from the 114-foot elevated starting point and journey at speeds up to 35 mph along the 1121-foot extended zip line. The experience lasts less than a minute but brings excitement, and visitors will gain a novel viewpoint of the LINQ Promenade.

a large building with a clock on top of it

Tickets for the zip line experience at this link, though if planning to also ride theHigh Roller observation wheel, I suggest the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass, which covers both attractions.

It’s also one of the best Las Vegas hotels with free parking, so you can leave your car here and enjoy the entire area on foot. Besides the accompanying amenities at The Venetian, you can check out all the services and facilities within The Palazzo resort.

11. Check out the Fremont Street Experience, another popular thing to do on the Vegas Strip

Referring to the Fremont Street Experience, it’s one of the prime destinations to tour in the Las Vegas Strip. Here, you’ll discover entertainment and activities for the whole family, and the area is accessible 24 hours daily.

The SlotZilla zip line is one of the most well-known attractions in the area, though if the concept of soaring through the sky from 11 floors up seems too intense for some, there are plenty of other activities. Throughout each day and evening, concerts and performances take place, many free of charge. An entertainment complex and shopping center also provides retailers, cafΓ©s, bars, and additional options.

people are walking down the street at night

After dark, you can watch the Viva Vision light presentation, which includes over 12 million LEDs and a cutting-edge sound system. It`s free, so if you`re seeking low-cost things to do on the Las Vegas Strip, I strongly suggest it.

While most of the attractions here are free or very low cost, there are some sights that require payment. One example is this walking tour, which provides a history of Fremont Street, where the first Las Vegas hotels and casinos opened. It’s quite fascinating, and it’s also covered in the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass.

12. Visit a museum, something to do on the Las Vegas Strip if it rains

While a museum may not be the first thing envisioned when imagining Las Vegas, there are numerous fascinating institutions worth a visit. I recommend keeping these museums in mind in case you end up needing to find activities to engage in on the Las Vegas Strip on a rainy day.

One of the top Las Vegas museums is the Neon Museum, which houses old neon signs from the city’s past. There are several engaging exhibitions present, including a `Neon Boneyard` filled with hundreds of previous casino and hotel signs. Traversing through the collection is an amusing activity to participate in on the Las Vegas Strip at night, and it’s something both children and adults will take pleasure in.

The Mob Museum presents an interesting way to explore four floors of historical items and hands-on displays where visitors can gain understanding about the city’s past involvement with gangsters and organized unlawful activity. The location also incorporates a mock distillery from the Prohibition time where attendees can obtain a beverage after touring the museum.

The Mob Museum is included in the Go Las Vegas All-Inclusive Pass, together with Madame Tussauds, a wax exhibit with over 100 figures. It provides an exceptional option for families since the kids will delight in striking poses with their beloved heroes and pop stars, while elders can seize convincing selfies with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and others.

13. Cool off at a pool party, the best thing to do on Las Vegas Strip with friends

If you’re visiting Sin City during the summer, it’s going to be very hot, so consider cooling down at one of the best water areas in Las Vegas.

The Beach at Mandalay Bay is perfect for families, featuring a lazy river, a series of refreshing lagoons, and a wave pool. Cabana rentals are available so you can relax while the kids play.

For an even more relaxing environment, check out the lavish pools located at Caesars Palace and The Palazzo. Not only are these two among the most elegant casinos on the Vegas Strip, but their pool areas are the ideal place to cool off, take a relaxing dip, and sunbathe.

a large swimming pool filled with lots of umbrellas

There are also impressive swimming functions here with live music, drinks, and swim-up bars. Participating in one of these gatherings is an awesome activity on the Las Vegas Strip with companions, particularly if you’re on spring break or commemorating a bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas.

Wet Republic at MGM Grand and Liquid Pool Lounge at ARIA Resort are two prominent gathering places where you can listen to live DJs whilst lounging by the pool area. Some of the day club venues even transform into vibrant nightclubs after dark, like the Encore Beach Club. It’s at the Encore at Wynn and features poolside daybeds, bars, a DJ booth, and additional ammenities.

14. Go dancing at a nightclub, another fun thing to do in Las Vegas on the Strip

  • Two exceptionally good wine bars in the city are Fig & Thistle and Birba, both located within walking distance of each other in Hayes Valley. Fig & Thistle has a small intimate setting, while Birba features an outstanding back garden patio worth visiting.

OMNIA Nightclub at Caesars Palace provides an upscale venue with an indoor lounge and state-of-the-art dance floor. It’s well-suited for those seeking a place to dance the night away while also having a space to take a break and grab a drink.

In addition to the clubs, there are amazing rooftop bars in Las Vegas, such as the VooDoo Lounge at Rio Resort. Here, you can enjoy breathtaking sights of Las Vegas Strip while listening to live music and sipping cocktails.

15. See a Cirque du Soleil show, another great thing to do on the Las Vegas Strip

No matter the time of the visit, an amazing Las Vegas show can be found to enjoy as a family or with a partner. Sin City has long hosted Cirque du Soleil, and there are multiple Cirque shows to select from.

Mystère is a legendary Cirque du Soleil display, and one of the top attractions to encounter along the Las Vegas Strip, distinctly at Treasure Island lodging. Another excellent choice is Kà at MGM Grand, which merges a coming-of-age account with the circus acts and performers that Cirque is known for. The Bellagio presents O, one of the most fascinating Cirque shows with water-themed acrobatics.

There are even productions inspired by famous stars such as Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay and The Beatles LOVE at The Mirage. So, whether you’re vacationing with kids or it’s simply a couple`s getaway, you`re sure to find a performance that suits you.

In addition to watching these performances, you can enjoy other Las Vegas Strip entertainment since you’ll already be on the Strip. Before the show, you can grab dinner at one of the hotel’s restaurants or check out the casino afterwards.

Where to stay on the Strip

With all the fun activities available on the Strip, it makes sense to spend the night. We have a complete guide to the best hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, but here are a few of my favorites:

  • New York – New York: We remained at this location during our initial journey to Vegas and even though it possessed quite a lively atmosphere for my tastes, it provides an excellent option for initial visitors.
  • The Bellagio: For our last trip to Vegas, we reserved a room here, and it was lovely. I strongly suggest it if you’re searching for a romantic place to spend the night.
  • Excalibur: This lodging is centrally situated, has family-friendly amenities, and offers inexpensive rates, so it’s ideal if you’re watching your budget.

These hotels provide lovely vistas of the Las Vegas Strip, and you will have the benefit of being near all the action. However, remember that the Strip is constantly busy, so it can get loud here, particularly at night. If you want more choices, I suggest examining our guide on where to lodge in Las Vegas.

FAQs – Things to do in Las Vegas Strip

To wrap up, here are responses to some frequently asked questions you may have about what can be done on the Strip:

The most popular section of the Strip is the primary Strip, which extends from the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to the SAHARA Hotel.

It is dependent on your intentions. The northern region has the premier shopping locations on the Las Vegas Strip, as well as additional nightlife and clubbing alternatives. Meanwhile, the southern region is where you’ll find more casinos and attractions.

The Vegas Strip stretches 4.2 miles long, so it takes approximately 1.5 hours to walk from one end to the other without stopping.

Many individuals simply walk, although if you want to save yourself the trouble, you can find shuttles, monorails, and trams along the Strip. We have a guide to getting around Las Vegas where you can learn more about the shuttles between hotels, the trams, and other possibilities like buses and rideshares.

There are over two dozen casinos situated along the Strip, but you`ll also find additional casinos and accommodations in downtown Las Vegas located nearby.

. Unfortunately Caffe Vita has now replaced La Marzocco CafΓ© in the same area, and still provides quality beverages. It`s situated picturesquely at the foot of the Space Needle, home to the radio station KEXP which records performances live. It`s truly an amazing experience. Regrettably when we visited, they were closed, but I wanted to acknowledge them for their excellent coffee.

That’s all the information I have to share regarding the activities to participate in on the Las Vegas Strip, with the hope that you feel more prepared for your trip. I also recommend checking out our Las Vegas map to familiarize yourself with all the attractions located on the Strip.
