Vancouver Hotels – Tips & Advice

    • Where To Stay in Vancouver: For visitors` initial trips exploring Vancouver over less than a full week, their accommodations should emphasize some of the city`s finest neighborhoods. These include the West End, Coal Harbour, Yaletown, False Creek, and Kitsilano. Three neighborhoods compose downtown Vancouver`s peninsular core: the West End closest to Stanley Park, Coal Harbour along the waterfront north of the West End, and eastern Yaletown. Most guests will want lodging in these downtown areas. Across the water south lies Kitsilano and False Creek, also beautiful but with fewer hotel options. The False Creek Aquabus connects multiple points in the West End, Yaletown, Kitsilano, and Granville Island.
    • Some of the finest luxury hotels in Vancouver include the highly rated Rosewood Hotel Georgia, the luxury Shangri-La hotel, and the highly designed Paradox hotel.

The 7 Best Hotels in Vancouver

1. Rosewood Hotel Georgia

a city street filled with lots of tall buildings

Centrally-located and newly-renovated – but retaining plenty of old-world charm. Rooms are spacious and elegant with great extras like heated floors and coffee machines in the bathrooms. Deluxe rooms and higher have large bathtubs for soaking. Full-treatment spa, beautiful garden area, excellent restaurant, and indoor saltwater lap pool. Situated in downtown Vancouver`s heart, across from the Art Gallery, Pacific Centre, and Skytrain.

2. Shangri-La

The best hotel in downtown Vancouver for shopping. Stylish 5-star with a prime location near Robson Street and many restaurants. Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. The on-site Italian restaurant is excellent. Joe Fortes, a stylish seafood restaurant is just around the corner and up the street a short distance

3. Paradox

Trendy and fun hotel with one of the friendliest staffs I’ve ever encountered (even if they make a few more mistakes than is typical at a luxury hotel). Karma Lounge is on the ground floor directly off Georgia Street and makes for a DJ thumping introduction to the hotel’s chic vibe.

4. Fairmont Pacific Rim

The best hotel near the Vancouver cruise terminal and steps from arriving and departing ships. Downtown shopping is still within an easy walk and the charming Gaslamp district is nearby as well.

5. Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

A classic luxury hotel (if somewhat dated) with a prime central location. Elegant decor, on-site luxury shopping, and pleasant indoor pool and fitness center. Also family and pet-friendly, with nightly milk and cookies for children and a concierge with canine ambassadors. The Fairmont is situated just around the corner from the shopping, nightlife, and restaurants of Robson Street and within easy walking distance of all downtown attractions.

6. Opus

Salzburg is generally quite safe both globally and even by Austrian criteria, though the standard precautions ought to be taken at night, particularly around the main station (Hauptbahnhof).

7. Granville Island Hotel

A charming hotel in a wonderful spot on Granville Island. The expansive Granville Island Market is a brief stroll away. The Aquabus departs from the dock just behind the hotel every few minutes for downtown, Stanley Park, and other areas around False Creek. And the pedestrian and bicycle path runs right by the hotel and stretches all the way to Stanley Park. Kayak and paddleboard rentals available from many nearby businesses. The Granville Island Hotel isn`t quite as luxurious as the Fairmont or Rosewood but if your goal is to experience the outdoors it can`t be beaten.

Begin at the Vanier Park location where its three cultural places include the Museum of Vancouver, the youthful H.R. Macmillan Space Centre, and the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Just along the shoreline, Kitsilano Beach is a huge sandy area that’s arguably Vancouver’s most well-liked summertime hangout. Shoppers should also allocate time for 4th Avenue, where independent stores and chain boutiques nest alongside superb restaurants and coffee shops. A few blocks south, the Broadway section of Kits also offers great shopping and dining.
