Whenever you get somewhere you’ve never been before, I always recommend immediately diving into the traditional dishes. In Seville, one of the best restaurants to tap into the local Andalusian cuisine is at Antigua Abacería de San Lorenzo.
Antigua Abacería de San Lorenzo is located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood. It upholds the Andalusian tradition of charcuterie-style dining with plenty of regional libations.
Some of the items might be unfamiliar, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. When in doubt, grab one of their ibérico plates and you won’t be disappointed.
Espacio Eslava

Espacio Eslava is the perfect restaurant in Seville to take a date for a romantic sit-down meal. The dining room at Espacio Eslava is timelessly elegant and they tote a menu that lives up to its ambiance.
Espacio Eslava’s specialty is taking traditional tapas dishes up a notch to fine dining, fusion tapas. Some of the menu highlights include the fried fish platter, honey ribs, homemade duck foie, and roasted sirloin. In particular, the fresh fish at Espacio Eslava is pretty mind-blowing.
Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, as you won’t want to miss the three-milk cake or tiramisu.

ConTenedor is located slightly outside of the main Seville city center, but it’s well worth embarking on a bit of an adventure.
ConTenedor serves up delectable Mediterranean dishes that rotate based on what’s in season. You can expect menu items like fresh salmon tartar, salads, cheese platters, and exquisitely-prepared pork chops. Depending on when you visit Spain and if it’s in season, the duck confit is a fan favorite at conTenedor.
ConTenedor dubbed itself as a slow-food restaurant, meaning its Mediterranean menu is made from organic, local ingredients. The restaurant places a huge emphasis on quality and you can truly taste the difference in the local produce.
La Sede

La Sede is an easy-to-overlook tapas bar located right next to the Setas de Sevilla sculptures. Oftentimes, cafes and restaurants near super popular attractions are overpriced and not great. This is not the case with La Sede.
I stumbled into this place after seeing great reviews and boy, it did not disappoint. I got three different tostas, plus some soup. Everything was fresh and fantastic. In fact, I still think about the food I had here.
The space itself is small, but the service is super friendly. It’s run by brothers. They were kind and hospitable and checked in with me throughout my meal. Definitely give La Sede a try if you’re by Las Setas de Sevilla!

Bar Alfalfa

Bar Alfalfa is perfect for visitors in search of a classic, laidback tapas bar. The tiny joint located right in the Centro neighborhood offers some of the best tapas in the city. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an after-drink snack, Bar Alfalfa will have you covered.
One thing to note about Bar Alfalfa is it’s super small and very well-loved. I had to stop by four different times before there was a table available for me. You may have to give it a couple of tries before you snag a seat at this Seville favorite.

La Escalona

La Escalona is a tapas restaurant crafting traditional Spanish food that also features an exquisite wine list. It’s located right near Seville’s buzzing Centro neighborhood, one of the best places to stay in Seville.
The food, location, and excellent service combine to designate La Escalona as one of the best restaurants in Seville. There is an indoor dining area, but the outdoor seating gives you a front-row view of Seville’s intoxicating vibe.
Lastly, it’s hard not to notice the excellent service at La Escalona. Our every need was attended to without waiters being overbearing.
La Bartola

La Bartola is one of Seville’s best restaurants to dive into the traditional style of tapas. This restaurant is located right near Plaza de España, so it’s a great stop to make after visiting this iconic Seville attraction.
La Bartola offers a smattering of different types of dishes, including vegetables, meat, fish, and even some vegan plates. For most things on the menu, you’ll have the option to get it tapas-style or in a full-size plate.
I’d particularly recommend La Bartola’s homemade croquettes of the day and the grilled octopus dish. Their sangria is also top-notch, so you’ll want to order a pitcher of that for the table, too!
👉 Pro Tip: La Bartola is conveniently located right near some of Seville’s most famous tourist attractions. The Royal Alcazar of Seville, Hospital los Venerables, and Archivo de Indias are all less than 10 minutes away from the restaurant. Spend the day checking out all these iconic Seville sites and then head to La Bartola for dinner without missing a beat.

Bodega Palo Santo is a standard tapas spot in Seville, but it has a few stand-out Sevillian dishes that make it a must-visit. Its fried cod, a Seville staple, is one of the best in the entire city. The mussels, oxtail stew, and octopus salad are all out of this world, too.
All in all, Bodega Palo Santo is the place to go for local tapas specialties.

After a night of taking in the famed Spanish nightlife, you’ll likely need a little brunch pick-me-up. When the need arises, make your way to Filo to regain your energy. Filo is the exact type of brunch place you wouldn’t expect to find in a city like Seville, but it’s excellent.
The most popular menu item at Filo is its bagel breakfast sandwiches, specifically, the Nordic smoked salmon bagel. But, there are plenty of other breakfast and lunch offerings too, from eggs benedict to packed-full salads.
Filo also has a ton of prix fixe breakfast platters that include coffee and orange juice.
Bar Sal Gorda

Out of all the best restaurants in Seville, Bar Sal Gorda is my personal favorite. I actually loved this place so much that I returned for a plate of their delicious risotto three times.
Sal Gorda features an undeniably charming atmosphere and great service. It’s located right in Seville’s center and you can feel the lively atmosphere of the city around you.
However, the greatest thing about this restaurant is by far the food. The risotto is life-changing, but the red tuna tartar and the ceviche are equally as mouthwatering. You won’t be thirsty at Bar Sal Gorda either, as the drink menu is just as long as the food menu.
👉 Pro Tip: Sal Gorda doesn’t take reservations and it has a very quaint restaurant space, so tables fill up fast. You’ll want to get there right before it opens or in the hour before they close to snag a table.
El Rinconcillo

El Rinconcillo has been servicing high-quality Spanish food for over 350 years and is one of Seville’s oldest and best restaurants. That’s a lot of experience, so you know that you’re going to be eating well.
El Rinconcillo has a menu filled with classic tapas dishes and includes variations of cod, Iberian pork cheeks, and local cold cuts and cheese. You’ll also want to grab a glass of their aged sherry before finishing your meal – it really ends the dinner off on the perfect note.
La Cacharrería

Everything on the menu is tasty, but it’s especially loved for its Jordanian mansaf, mandi, and beef tagine. Al Sultan’s traditional style is sure to exceed your expectations of Arabic food in Spain.
La Cantina Mexicana
