The main reason I love the Chase Ultimate Rewards points so much is because they are so incredibly flexible. It’s super easy to redeem your Ultimate Rewards points directly for travel through Chase Travel, or to transfer them to a variety of partners for even higher value rewards.
Here are my favorite options for redeeming 75,000 points:
- $900+ of travel booked through Chase Travel – they have a really intuitive online portal where you can search most flights. It lets you book directly with points in just a few clicks. Since Chase Sapphire Preferred card holders can redeem points at 1.25 cents per point, that means 75,000 points is equivalent to $900+ worth of travel. The whole thing is really easy and intuitive, but I’ve got a step-by-step guide if you need help.
- 75,000 points transferred to airline partners – Chase also lets you transfer Ultimate Rewards points to a variety of transfer partners, including United Mileage Plus and Air Canada’s Aeroplan program. No matter which option you choose, the bonus alone is worth well more than the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s $95 annual fee.

While the Chase Sapphire Preferred card’s welcome bonus is the big showstopper, there are a lot of other benefits to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card as well.
First, you earn at least a point for every dollar you spend on the card. And you can earn bonus points for certain categories, including:
- 5x for travel booked via the Chase Travel portal
- 2x for other travel purchases
- 3x points for dining
- 3x points for select streaming services
- 3x points on online grocery purchases (excludes Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs)
- 5x points on Lyft rides through March 31, 2025
Second, the Chase Sapphire Preferred card also comes with a variety of other benefits like:
- Complimentary DoorDash DashPass (which gets you $0 delivery fees)
- Complimentary Instacart+ subscription for 6 months
- 25% more value for points redeemed through Chase Travel
- No foreign transaction fees
- Travel and purchase coverages – including things like trip cancellation insurance, auto rental collision damage waiver, baggage delay insurance, and purchase protection (see full terms and conditions when applying)
Considering the low annual fee, overall this card is stacked with benefits.

If you are new to the points and credit card world, this won’t be an issue for you. But if you have applied for more than five credit cards in the past 24 months, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with Chase’s 5/24 rule, which restricts applications from individuals who have exceeded those limits.
Responsibly Manage Credit
While I think credit card sign up bonuses can offer incredible value, all that value goes away if you do not know how to responsibly manage credit.
Personally, I always pay off my credit card statement every month so I don’t incur interest charges. And I never spend money I don’t have.
