Just looking for a quick answer on where to stay in Littleton? Here are my top picks:Β

Ok, let’s do a deep dive of the best areas and neighborhoods in Littleton:Β

5 Best Neighborhoods & Areas to Stay in Littleton

Although historic downtown Littleton is a great spot to visit on a trip here, there aren’t many places to stay. Most Littleton hotels are actually around the edges of town, or in nearby suburban areas like Ken Caryl, Highlands Ranch, and Lakewood.Β

You can even stay in downtown Denver, which has more hotels to choose from, and take a day trip to Littleton. You’ll get both the hustle and bustle of a big downtown city, and the old-fashioned charm of this little town!

Ken Caryl is also near Lockheed Martin, Siemens, and a few other businesses so it’s great for business travelers. Finally, Ken Caryl is near lots of trails and two parks with big lakes for boating, swimming, fishing, and more. The Littleton hotels you’ll find here are standard. You won’t find many boutique hotels with personality, but they are roomy, with lots of amenities for business travelers and families.Β

Tips for Staying in Littleton

Know Your Transportation Options

There is a light rail, with two stops in Littleton, so you can get from downtown Denver to Littleton without needing a car. However, if you want to visit Littleton attractions like the Littleton Museum, go hiking in the foothills, visit Red Rocks, or stay on the outskirts of Littleton, you’ll likely want a rental car.Β Β

Littleton is about a 40-minute drive from Denver International Airport. It is possible to get to the airport using public transportation, but it will require a switch from the light rail to the train at Union Station in downtown Denver.Β

πŸš— Pro Tip: Discover Cars searches the main rental car companies to find you the best price on a rental in the city you’re visiting!Β

Stop In For Dinner in Littleton

Littleton’s Main Street at night is something special. There are twinkle lights in the trees and people spilling onto patios and rooftop spaces. While you’re in the area, be sure to have dinner downtown if you can.Β

Check Out the Free Days

Various attractions throughout the Front Range – including in Littleton – offer free days each year. Head to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) website, enter the days you’ll be visiting the Denver metro area, and you’ll get a list of any museums, gardens, and other facilities offering free admission during your stay.

Know Your Hotel Amenities

Many of the Littleton hotels on this list offer perks like indoor pools, a hot tub, or a free breakfast. You may actually save by booking a more expensive room that includes breakfast, especially if you’re traveling with your family (breakfast for hungry kids can add up!).

You can also save on other expenses by booking at a hotel like the Hampton Inn & Suites or an aparthotel that has a kitchen area where you can store and prepare your own food.

Don’t Let The Weather Fool You

We like to joke in Colorado that if you don’t like the weather, wait 15 minutes! We get bad weather, sure, but it doesn’t usually last long. As a general rule, summer thunderstorms roll in in the afternoons and you’ll be better off planning outdoor activities in the morning.Β

In winter, snowstorms don’t usually last more than part of a day. On the flip side, you may leave your hotel on a sunny morning, only to find yourself shivering half an hour later!Β

Plan to dress in layers each day – it’s helpful to bring a backpack or bag while you’re out to store sweatshirts, hats, and other layers. Also, plan to be a little flexible – you may have to push a hike you had planned if there’s lightning or wait a while to drive somewhere if the snow is coming down hard.
