Best budget riads in Marrakech (under £60 a night)
Riad Matins De Marrakech – from £35 per night
“Marrakech can be chaotic at the best of times, but once you leave the busy streets behind you for the tranquillity of Riad Matins De Marrakech, you cant help but feel you have been transported to a hidden oasis.
The dusty, noisy street sounds are but a distant memory, the sound of the trickling water fountain is all that breaks the peaceful silence.
Looking up to the sky in the centre of the riad, all you can notice is the decretive paintings and rugs hanging from all the walls. Though, one of the best parts is the price, where prices start at $45.00 per night.
The true beauty of riad Matins De Marrakech however is not the property itself.
Rather the hosts that deliver a friendly smile every time they open the door to let you in, or serve you a banquet of a breakfast every single morning on the rooftop garden. Truly making it one of the best riads in Marrakech”

Riad Miski – from £45 per night
“ Riad Miski is in the western part of the old town, outside the souks, but within easy walking distance of them all. It is about a 15-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fna, the main square.
I like that it is in the old town, but away from the most intense, crowded part of it. This is an area in which locals live, and like most of the old town, the streets are too narrow for anything but foot and motorbike traffic.
The riad is run by an attentive French couple who met us at the small square nearby where our taxi dropped us off, with a cart for our bags.
Upon arrival, we were given a mint tea while they gave us very detailed directions around the old town, and tips on safety. They also arranged a taxi for us for a day trip we took.
The rooms are all individually decorated with traditional Moroccan handicrafts (many of which are for sale if you don’t want to bargain in the markets) and are simple but beautiful.
There is a rooftop terrace where breakfast was served weather-permitting, and there is even a private hammam (bath) you can pay extra to use.
There are seating areas around the central courtyard and a dining room downstairs where it is possible to have delicious homecooked meals, which we did every night except when we did a food tour.
Riad Miski is mid-range in terms of budget, but feels like pure luxury and really added to our travel experience in Marrakech.”

Riad dar Mouassine – from £60 per night
“When visiting Marrakech, I was looking for a riad that provided good value for money as I wanted to experience the charm of an old riad without breaking the bank.
I ended up finding Riad dar Mouassine, a gorgeous riad hidden within the medina with a stunning rooftop deck and atmospheric rooms that are beautifully decorated.
Each morning, there is free breakfast served on the roof or served to the room, perfect for a cozy weekend (or week) in Marrakech for couples.
In the evenings, the kind staff would even bring me delicious mint tea to enjoy as I sat by the fire reading.”

Best mid-range riads in Marrakech (from £60 to £150 a night)
Riad Mur Akush – from £62 per night
“One of the best experiences to have in Marrakech is staying in a beautiful riad. The word “riad” originally means garden, and the accommodations that are called this way represent a real oasis in this quite chaotic city.
There are many riads in Marrakech, and our favorite one is Riad Mur Akush. It’s a rather small riad in the heart of the Medina that offers you a really intimate experience.
All the rooms have their own character; the one we stayed at is the Suite d’Olive with vivid blue color dominating, and a beautiful bed made from old olive presses from a real Berber village.
Apart from the room, it’s also worth highlighting the common areas, such as the patio with its magical lights or the awesome roof terrace. The latter is the perfect surrounding to have your breakfast served to you by the very kind staff.
The price of the riad is in the middle range, depending on you room, a night costs 70-100 €.”

Riad Dar Baraka Karam – from £70 per night
Located inside the Medina of Marrakech, but just outside the main hustle and bustle of the souks, you will find Riad Dar Baraka Karam.
This beautiful riad is hidden away down a little alleyway and is much bigger than the little outer door anticipates. The riad actually has three inner courtyards, each with its own different decoration style.
The room we stayed in was small but very cosy and clean, paired with helpful and friendly staff and delicious food for breakfast, it’s one of the best riads I stayed at in Marrakech!

Riad les Clos des Arts – from £90 per night
“Riad les Clos des Arts is a luxury hotel for a standard rate. Just a five-minute walk to Jemaa el Fna Square and steps from Bahia Palace, the Riad is located in the heart of Marrakesh.
Riad les Clos des Arts offers single, double or suite rooms with prices starting at E100 – E180 per night. Every room includes a double bed, an ensuite bathroom and breakfast.
Breakfast features tea or coffee, fresh juice, yoghurt, fruit, fresh eggs and a pastry. For an additional price, guests can have a traditional dinner at the Riad with menus changing daily.

Riad Star – from £110 per night
Located in the heart of the Marrakech Riad Star is a peaceful oasis surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the medina. Riad Star used to be the home of Josephine Baker, a Jazz Age superstar.
It has two inner courtyards and thirteen different rooms, all with a different style but beautifully decorated.
Riad Star also has a huge rooftop terrace, where you can relax at the end of a long day spent exploring Marrakech by sipping Moroccan mint tea and watching the sunset over the roofs of the Medina.
The staff are incredibly helpful and polite, and will help you plan both your time in Marrakech and day trips out of the city if you ask them.
Both the welcome dinner and breakfasts we had at Riad Star were amongst the best meals we had in Morocco.

Riad BE Marrakech – from £115 per night
“ Riad BE is an absolute feast for the eyes and hands down my favorite hotel stay to date!
The decor is seriously stunning – classic Moroccan with elaborate tile details, a beautiful plunge pool in the central courtyard, and a gorgeous bohemian-styled terracotta rooftop.
It’s located just inside the Marrakech Medina, within walking distance to Djemaa el Fna Square.
If you don’t feel like venturing out for meals, you can devour a delicious housemade breakfast on the rooftop terrace, or try a traditional Moroccan tagine for dinner.
If you need to unwind after exploring the chaos of Marrakech, the property also features a hammam spa and massage service! They also offer Moroccan cooking classes and a yoga studio.
But what really sets Riad BE apart is its outstanding staff, who are always happy to chat over a coffee or offer insider tips on Marrakech. I couldn’t recommend this riad more highly and can’t wait to stay there again!”

Best luxury riads in Marrakech (more than £150 a night)
Riad Kniza – from £155 per night
“ Riad Kniza is a luxury hotel located in the medina of Marrakech. It is near the Bab Doukkala gate and about a 15-20 minute walk tothe souks and the infamous Jema l’Fna Square.
The hotel is a tranquil respite from the frenzied activity of the city. There are several peaceful areas to relax throughout the premises including several salons, a rooftop terrace, and the pool/spa area.
It includes 11 rooms and suites beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style. My 2 daughters, ages 12 and 13, and I stayed in a lovely senior suite. It was very clean and spacious with a bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom.
The food at the hotel is delicious. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here daily. The breakfast was plentiful and was included in the price of our room.
The dinner menu offers a variety of typical Moroccan dishes. We sampled just about everything on the menu. It was all very good, but our favorites were the assorted Moroccan salads and the Chicken Pastilla.
You can request to be served your meal in your room, in any of the salons, or on the rooftop terrace.
One of the nights we were there, there was a musician playing in one of the central courtyards, which was a nice touch. The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional.
This is a luxury property and rooms range from about $200/night for a deluxe double to about $800 for the royal suite. Overall, this is a fantastic choice for a luxury stay in Marrakech.
We really enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning again someday.”

Riad Kheirredine – from £190 per night
“I love a good challenge – and finding the hidden Riad Kheirredine in the heart of the medina is certainly one of them.
You can of course have the wonderful hotel team pick you up at the old town entrance, or you can work on navigating the winding alleyways yourself to be handsomely rewarded with this elegant hideaway.
There’s so many highlights to this oasis of a property. Rooms are airy and light, opening to the courtyards or lively streets below.
Water features bring tranquility to the lobby and lounging areas, especially enjoyed with Moroccan tea and sweets.
Up on the rooftop, have your breakfast with luxury imported ingredients and plenty of local delicacies too – try the msemen flatbread with honey.
Staff are happy to recommend off-site dining experiences and show you where the best shopping spots are nearby.”

“ La Mamounia is an incredible hotel in Marrakech that was voted best hotel in the world Readers’ Choice 2015, and the Best Hotel Middle East and Africa Readers’ Choice Award 2015.
It hosted Charles de Gaulle, Rossevelt or Churchill which made it iconi all over the world. Even movies like Alfred hitchcock’s the man who knew too much and a part of Sex and the city were filmed in the hotel.
The hotel is true luxury not too far away from the buzzling center of Morocco. It has an excellent spa and 2 amazing pools you probably saw on Instagram.
For ultimate luxury, you can rent one of the three private riad of 700 sqm with private pools, three bedrooms and 2 living rooms, marble bathrooms and classic Moroccan-style courtyards.”
