“We take photographs as a return tickets to a moment otherwise gone.”

When I was little I remember having photo albums and picture frames everywhere around the house, with photos of my trips with my parents or random moments of every day life.

Today with the rise of digital photography we take more photos, but we also forget about them more easily.

That one photo from that amazing night on a beach in Croatia is hidden somewhere amongst thousands of other selfies and food photos.

In this post I’m going to share with you creative ways to print your favourite photographs and record your travel memories, to make sure they don’t just become another photo on your phone that you forget about.

How to print & record your travel memories

Photo album

The most classic way to record your travel memories is with a photo album.

Select the best photos out of the thousands you took, insert them in a Mixbook photo album template and voilà, you have a beautiful memory of your trip to show your friends and look back on in the future.

Mixbook have tons of different photo album templates for a variety of themes (eg. holiday, birthday party, wedding etc) so if you want to keep it simple you can just select one of them and add your photos to the preset boxes.

You can also go for a more personalised approach and choose how to display the photos on every page and what to write. Personally, I picked the “Europe Travel” template and then made edits to the pages I wanted to change.

I loved some of the travel quotes already in the theme so I kept them, but you can easily change these to your preferred text.

The Mixbook dashboard from which you create your album will also tell you if the photo quality is too low so that you don’t have bad surprises when the printed product arrives.

Square photo prints

With the rise of Instagram and other social media platforms square photos have become increasingly popular.

They cut out part of the landscape but I personally love the old Polaroid feeling and they’re easy to use to make collages.

I printed some of my favourite personal and travel memories in square 5×5″ photos to stick to my bedroom door.

Canvas print

If you’re looking for a style of print that will really enhance the beauty of your travel photos, while at the same time adding to your home decor, you have to check out the canvas prints.

The canvas prints look like paintings and come in a variety of different sizes and framings. It’s the perfect way to make that stunning sunrise, beautiful beach or group photo really pop.

When you hang it up on a wall amongst other frames or decorations it will stand out and add a little exotic touch to your room.
