The expansive aquarium in the lobby alone merits visiting the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino with children. Moreover, the exceptional pool complex is unparalleled, featuring a wave pool, lazy river, and three full-size pools including an authentic beach. Spacious, comfortable rooms avoid requiring travelers to pass through the casino, allowing for a pleasant stay.
3. New York – New York Hotel (luxury) – South Strip
The impressive roller coaster wrapping around the New York skyline will entice thrill-seeking youngsters and adults (provided kids are 54 inches tall). A midway arcade honoring Coney Island provides games and shopping. Though small compared to pools in Vegas, this one boasts plenty of shade to protect tender skin.
4. Courtyard Hotel (midrange) – South Las Vegas
The large, clean rooms and friendly staff make this a top selection. The pool is small but includes a expansive hot tub. An on-site shop allows you to pick up a snack or assemble a light meal. There’s a complimentary shuttle to the strip or airport. King rooms with a sofa bed can accommodate a family of four.
5. The Golden Nugget (midrange) – Fremont Street
An awesome swimming pool, large waterslide, and aquarium housing sharks are among the highlights here. This location is great for families who prefer staying downtown over being on the famous strip.

The “Widescreen” rooms have recently been redone and are much improved than the “Standard” rooms. Midway games and video arcade on-site.
