San Antonio Hot Springs is one of the highest rated soaking sites in New Mexico. If you merely have time for a solitary relaxing immersion while in the state, you can`t make a wrong decision with San Antonio.
With only a 1.5-mile roundtrip hike to and from the hot springs, this spring attracts a large New Mexico crowd on weekends. I recommend going during the week for the privilege of having the springs all to yourself.

Spence Hot Springs is one of my own preferred locations in New Mexico. Nestled in the mountains along Highway 4, these almost-cliffside hot springs involve only a brief 0.7-mile roundtrip hike.
These springs may only provide lukewarm temperatures at best, but I’ll keep you informed with an insider tip. There is a small rock cave at the rear of the higher hot spring that acts as a natural hot spring sauna. This area has the hottest water temperatures but can only accommodate two people at a time. Arrive early to enjoy the warmest water without crowds.

Describing the ethereal quality of the Gila Wilderness hot springs hardly does it justice. Just be certain to prepare thoroughly – the nine-mile dirt road approach requires all-terrain vehicles or four-wheel drive. The reward makes any efforts worthwhile.

While booking the guided tour is the simplest option, you can also do the Masca hike independently. Of course, until the pier reopens, you’ll have to do both the descent and ascent by foot. So that is why I only recommend this for a 7-day trip to Tenerife. If you only have 5 days to explore Tenerife, I suggest taking in the views from El Caserio and skipping the hike.
