We leased a car for 8 days and used public transport to visit Palermo. The cost of the rental was € 216. Additionally, as we did not return the car to the location where we first obtained it, we were overcharged € 60. We also rented a GPS system costing € 80. Furthermore, we purchased comprehensive insurance which was € 84. While this significantly increases your Sicily travel budget, try not to skimp on fully covered insurance.

ADVICE FOR NOT LOSING MONEY WITH CAR RENTAL
If you have prior experience renting vehicles, then you’ve likely heard advice before. However, I distinctly remember the moment we picked up our rental car in Palermo where a large disagreement was occurring at the counter.
A group consisting of about 10 individuals, presumably a family, were trying to pick up two rental automobiles they had booked to tour Sicily. As it turns out, none of them had remembered to bring a credit card, which was necessary to put down the deposit and access the vehicle.
To summarize, you must have a credit card to reserve a rental vehicle in Italy if you do not already have one. I suggest applying for one of the top credit cards for travel.
ACCOMMODATION in Sicily

We prearranged all lodging via Booking before traveling to Sicily. Of all the places we toured, Taormina and Stromboli are undeniably the costliest as they are the most touristed (We journeyed during the final week of July at peak season).

Fortunately, I managed to convince Dani to sleep outside in Stromboli so we could observe the volcano erupting under the stars. We cancelled our accommodation at the last minute and managed to recover part of the reservation. And no, we did not do it for the money. Seeing Bivouac in Stromboli for the initial time is a memory that we will never eliminate from our minds.

OTHER TRAVEL EXPENSES IN SICILY OVER 10 DAYS
Additionally, in planning the travel funds for Sicily, other costs must be accounted for. For example, we reserved tickets for the ferry to Stromboli while in Spain beforehand. The round-trip price between Milazzo and Stromboli was € 45 per individual. We booked it through the company Usticaline.
Each of us spent € 370 on the excursion, which included mouth-watering pizzas and pasta dishes along with many glasses of white wine from the house. Within that amount, we also chartered a boat tour in Aci Trezza costing € 15 per person.
