Friday Harbor is the main town on San Juan Island. It’s where the marina is situated and the Anacortes ferry arrives and departs. (There was no Clipper service from downtown Seattle in 2022. Not certain what the plan is for summer 2023.) There are also seaplane flights to the airport and marina from Western Washington cities.
Friday Harbor is a town of approximately 2,500 inhabitants, popular with tourists and well-stocked with dining establishments, cafes, bars, and small shops. There is also a grocery store, brewery, whale watching excursions, a movie theater, bowling alley, and 3 small but interesting museums.
