When Is the Best Time to Visit Cincinnati?

The best time to visit Cincinnati is spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October), as these popular seasons have ideal weather. Summer is the peak season for tourists, but there are Cincinnati events throughout the year that draw people in.

Of course, your ideal time to visit will depend on exactly what you want out of the experience. Fortunately, there are things to do in Cincinnati for every interest!

When to Visit Cincinnati for Good Weather

Visit when the temperatures are comfortably warm if optimal weather is important to you. This is typically the case from April to early June and September to October. You won’t have to deal with the wind and snow of Cincinnati winters during these seasons, nor the hot and humid summers.

But add an umbrella to your Cincinnati packing list if traveling in spring, as April and May are the rainiest months in Cincinnati. If you prefer dry weather, you may want to come in autumn.

When to Visit Cincinnati for Cheap Prices

Consider coming in January or February if you want a great trip on a budget. Places to stay in Cincinnatiskyrocket in price around the holidays, but then they steeply drop after the first of the year.

There’s also a lot to do in the wintertime. You can go ice skating on outdoor rinks, so long as you can stand the cold. Consider taking a Cincinnati brewery tour or enjoying indoor attractions in the Queen City. These include concerts at Cincinnati Music Hall, museums, and the Newport Aquarium.

When to Visit Cincinnati for Families and Kids

The most popular time for families with kids to come to Cincinnati is between June and September. There are countless family-friendly activities and festivals during this time of the year.

However, this is the peak time for tourists in Cincinnati. This means that your destinations stand the chance of being very crowded. I would recommend coming in June if summer is the only time you have available. The weather is less sticky than in July and August.

Otherwise, consider coming in March or early April during spring break. The weather will be cooler and there are plenty of events for kids to enjoy.
