Table Rock Hike

If you want magnificent views, this moderately challenging, 3.7-mile loop hike is an excellent option for anyone looking to get some good exercise and sunshine.

The cross at the summit provides a scenic photo opportunity with neat city views in the background.

Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area

Bogus Basin is the premier location for outdoor recreation all year round in the Boise area. Both locals and visitors frequently make the trip up the mountain to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Throughout the winter season, this serves as a nearby place to try various winter activities. The ski venue offers 10 lifts and 80 runs for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. They even have trails for snowshoeing and tubing fun!

During the summer months, visitors can enjoy scenic lifts to elevated areas or descend exhilarating roller coasters. Additional options involve hiking or mountain biking along the extensive trail networks. Two favored hiking routes in the vicinity are Shafer Butte and Stack Rock

🚗 How to Reach: In the winter months, driving up the mountain can become rather difficult. It’s always preferable to take an AWD or 4WD vehicle. Compare costs and ratings of various agencies with Discover Cars.

Float the Boise River at Barber Park

Barber Park serves as the primary place to launch a float down the Boise River. Visitors can rent a tube, raft, or kayak (or bring their own equipment) and float down the Boise River. They will end up in Ann Morrison park, where a shuttle will return them to their vehicle parked at Barber Park.

Remember, floating the Boise River is strictly a summer activity. However, you can still enjoy Barber Park in the off-season.

👉 Pro Tip: If you wish to take your mobile device on your relaxing float, invest in a water resistant holder and keep it around your neck. I`ve observed many individuals losing their phones to the waterway!

Camel’s Back Park

Get into nature at Camel’s Back Park.

This is one of my regular parks when I want to get some outdoor physical exercise but don’t want to drive too far from the city. It offers an outdoor gym area and has a long stairway that takes you to the top of a nearby hill. It will definitely increase your heart rate!

This park offers convenient access to nearby hikes in the Boise Foothills and the Hulls Gulch Reserve and is connected to extended stretches of public trails. Take in the downtown perspectives from the hill or enjoy a round of tennis and a picnic. You won’t run short of activities to partake in at Camel’s Back Park!
