Nafplio Tips & Recommendations

  • Nafplio is a lovely, romantic, and compact coastal town that can be easily explored on foot. Most of Old Town Nafplio is pedestrian-only, and parking may be limited at the outskirts, so a vehicle is unnecessary while lodging in the city center.
  • When providing gratuity in Nafplio, tipping is a custom in Greece. Generally for a casual meal at a taverna, tipping around €2 to €5 is suitable, or rounding the bill up to the nearest amount ending in 0 or 5. For example, if your bill is €27, leave a total of €30. At higher-end restaurants, tipping 5 to 10% of the total is standard practice; 15% is viewed as generous. For bars and cafes when ordering at the counter, round up to the nearest euro; for table service, tip approximately 5 to 10%.
