Staying in Ornos
Situated merely 3 km from Mykonos Town, Ornos is one of the most valued beaches on Mykonos. Easy to access from Mykonos Town by public transportation, it’s a great choice for people traveling with children. The surrounding neighborhood offers many dining options, convenience stores, and a variety of hotels including some of the island’s finest. The bus stops right at the sand, as does the water taxi which shuttles passengers between preferred beaches).

South and southwest of the city center along the Toyohira River valley is the mountainous district of South Sapporo. There’s much to explore down here, but you’ll need to rely on buses, taxis, or your own transportation to move around. Notable attractions include Mount Moiwa, with a small ski destination and an observation deck accessed via the Moiwa Ropeway (cable car). If you only have time for one of Sapporo’s vantage points, this is the best pick, assuming the weather is sunny. The perspectives are spectacular, not just of the city but also of the larger mountains to the west. Night visits are really busy but extremely scenic. A free shuttle bus runs between Ropeway Iriguchi tram station and the cable car base station.
