The 11 Best Tours & Things To Do in Mykonos
1. Mykonos Cooking Class (Traditional Greek Food)
A supremely enjoyable and informative Greek cooking experience awaits those who enroll in this culinary workshop. Lasting under 6 hours and starting in the morning or afternoon with provided transportation, it combines a casual atmosphere with abundant samples of authentic regional cuisine and libations. Highly recommended as a uniquely engaging activity, especially for those with limited time on the island. Though uncommon, any young participants also tend to find the experience highly pleasurable
2. Sunset Sailing Cruise
A joyous Mykonos boat experience including recreational swimming, victuals, and limitless beverages. Abundant aquatic activities like swimming and snorkeling amid good company.
3. Original Morning Delos Guided Tour
After a 45-minute boat trip to Delos, explore the ancient island with a fully accredited guide. Delos (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is among the best-maintained and most important historical sites in Greece and the best day outing from Mykonos. If interested in visiting Delos, we advise taking a guided tour; there are lots of ruins, but few signs, so it can be difficult to know what you`re looking at without a guide).
4. Delos & Rhenia Islands Boat Trip
Tour the historic Greek island of Delos, once inhabited but now unpopulated, including admission to archaeological sites, then spend time swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing from the yacht as well as along the shoreline of the nearby islet of Rhenia. A barbecue lunch and unlimited beverages are incorporated into the excursion.
5. Catamaran Cruise with 3-Course Meal
A lively way to spend a day exploring the Mykonos coastline or neighboring Rhenia island by boat (route dependent on winds, weather and guest vote), this excursion mixes relaxation on the deck with opportunities for swimming, snorkeling or sightseeing along with above average quality food and drink offerings included. Though on the expensive side, the outing proves worthwhile for the intimate group size and elevated service level.
Note: Both of the previous boat tours regularly reach full capacity from late June to early September. Should this be the case, the Full-Day Mykonos Catamaran Cruise is an excellent alternative – it costs a bit more but the food quality is higher.
6. Highlights of Mykonos: Half-Day Tour
An island excursion begins with an exploratory stroll through Mykonos Town before touring additional highlights, secluded villages like Ano Mera atop the region, and hidden chapels scattered across the landscape.
7. Mykonos Hiking Adventure
This photo was taken during a helicopter tour of Mykonos (amazing but pricey) that offered an aerial perspective of the Mykonos landscape. Beautiful beaches surrounded by rolling inland scenery with a mix of green farmland and trails crossing open fields. The hike ends with a dip at a beach. Horseback riding through Mykonos provides another great way to see the countryside.).
8. Yummy Pedals Bike Tour
Discover Mykonos` rugged interior terrain through a selection of guided cycling tours suited to varying abilities and interests. Opt for a casual bike ride along rural backroads, stopping to explore cultural sites and learn about traditional island life before a beach picnic and underwater photography. Alternatively, experienced cyclists can pick a scenic mountain ride ascending peaks as tall as wind turbines, rewarded with panoramic north coast views. Private customized tours are also available upon request.
9. Wine and Farm Tour
Daily tours providing insight into the viticulture practices and sampling of resultant wines are ordinarily accessible at this historic vineyard established in the 19th century. Families are welcomed to learn about their biodynamic cultivation techniques and local traditions of winemaking through interactive tastings of their diverse portfolio, including opportunities to manually harvest grapes as was formerly tradition. Nourishment pairings can supplement the experience. Led by knowledgeable hosts, these tours impart an edifying look at their procedures while allowing young visitors to interact with resident livestock. Access to the farmland and vineyards is complimentary; tastings and meals require supplementary payment.
10. Mosaic Workshop
Artisan Irene Syrianou, raised on the sacred island of Delos, spent a decade there familiarizing with ancient mosaics at the archaeological site while refining her own techniques. In workshops hosted privately or for groups, she guides students in replicating the mosaics of antiquity or actualizing modern designs of their own conception. Instruction occurs within the scenic environs of Manto Garden or her studio, comprising brief introductory sessions or multi-day seminars suited to all experience levels.
11. Mykonos Farmers Cheese and Cooking Class
Artisanal cheese production, tasting, and cuisine preparation are among the hands-on experiences available at a locally run dairy farm situated a short drive from Mykonos Town. The farm crafts an assortment of cheeses distinctive to Mykonos and the Cyclades islands in addition to more familiar varieties, together with thick, rich Greek yogurt. Educational workshops of approximately two hours introduce visitors aged 14 and up to cheesemaking and cooking through a tour and samples, catering to novice and advanced participants alike.
The Best Free Thing To Do in Mykonos
Mykonos Beach Walk
Walk along the route connecting Platis Gialos Beach to Paradise Beach, while stopping at beach-front bars and restaurants along the way. During the journey, you will pass Agia Anna and Paraga beaches as well as several other small swimming coves. This activity provides much fun without any cost besides your expenditures on food and drinks. If staying in Mykonos Town, take the bus to Platis Gialos Beach initially and then begin walking eastward along the shoreline (if facing the water, go left). There are numerous excellent spots to dine during the walk. Walking directly to Paradise Beach without stops will take approximately one hour. Returning options include taking the bus from Paradise back to Mykonos Town or using the water taxi to travel back to either Platis Gialos or Ornos beach—the latter being my personal favorite location.
