The romantic and family-friendly Old Inn of Psarras in Plaka has been around for over a century. The Psara family lived in the building and operated the tavern for 3 generations until Mr. Stathokostopoulos purchased the restaurant in 1998. The original Mr. Psara fled the political unrest in Constantinople to America where he had several jobs, including in the theater industry, and made numerous famous acquaintances. When he returned home and opened his eating establishment, his celebrity friends came to visit him and dine there, making it very popular. The traditional Greek menu features several delectable meat, seafood, and vegetarian options at reasonable prices, and the staff is quite welcoming.
