Named after the Greek general Theodoros Kolokotronis, who led Greek resistance against the Ottomans with the nickname “geros tou Moira”, Geros Tou Moria is a family-friendly Greek eatery spread across two buildings in Plaka. This 90-year old taverna offers an affordable menu with meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes that has been pleasing patrons for over five decades under the operation of two brothers, Pandeli and Stefanos. The friendly and laidback atmosphere includes nightly live music, and reservations are suggested for the fantastic Greek cuisine in casual surroundings.
