The Donkey Brewing Company in Santorini

The brewery known as Santorini Brewing Company, located in Mesa Gonia, is worthwhile for those with an appreciation of beer. Operating for around eight seasons now, it commenced with distinctive yellow and red “donkey beers.” One of the initial limited selections was the white donkey variety, crafted 5-6 times yearly. Visitors fortunate enough could potentially sample the extremely constrained slow donkey beer, aged for 13 months in a barrel followed by two additional months in a glass bottle. Recently introduced was the lazy ass beer, just one year old. The brewery does not schedule formal tours or tastings but staff are delighted to discuss their products and offer samples. Donkey-branded apparel, goods, and beer can be purchased. Nearby towns include Pyrgos and Kamari. Riders of the Fira-Kamari bus can ask the driver to stop at Santorini Brewing Company in Mesa Gonia, as a halt is right outside. Limited parking is available.
