Puerto Rico’s main airport connects Puerto Rico with domestic and international destinations.

The Luis MuΓ±oz MarΓ­n International Airport (SJU) is Puerto Rico’s largest international airport. It’s also where most passengers arrive on the island from both domestic and international flights.Β 

This international airport hub connects the US to other Caribbean islands and major cities in Latin America.Β 

Due to its current location in the Isla Verde district, the airport was known as the Isla Verde International Airport or Isla Verde Airport until the 80s. It’s currently known as the San Juan International Airport.Β Β 

The Luis MuΓ±oz MarΓ­n International Airport has four different terminals, restaurants, coffee shops, and duty-free shops. You can grab transportation to Old San Juan at the lowest level of the airport.

The Rafael HernΓ‘ndez Airport is the second largest of the Puerto Rico major airports. It receives direct commercial flights from New York and Florida, but it’s mostly used for military and private charters.

Rafael HernΓ‘ndez Airport, also known as the Aguadilla Airport due to its location, only has one passenger terminal with two gates.Β 

This airport is the best option for exploring Aguadilla’s attractions and the northwest coast. You can rent a car for Puerto Rico within it too.

Mercedita International Airport is the third largest international and commercial airport in Puerto Rico.Β 

The airport, also known as the Ponce Airport, receives flights from major airlines like JetBlue, Frontier, and Spirit. The military, the Puerto Rico Police Department, and private charters also use the facilities.Β Β 

Ponce’s airport is small and has only one runway, so you’ll get in and out of the airport quickly and have extra time for Ponce’s activities.

Travelers will find rental car companies, a coffee shop, and a duty-free shop inside.
