- Naxos is a wonderful island – one of my favorites – and has a bit of everything: Some of the finest shorelines in Greece, incredible cuisine, lots of history, enchanting Greek villages, wonderful hikes, and even a little nightlife (but nothing excessive).
- I propose remaining on Agios Georgios (St. George) Beach, which has great sand and is very kid-accommodating due to its gentle incline and calm water. Explore the beaches and inland towns throughout the day, but stay at Agios Georgios Beach to explore nearby Naxos Town (Chora) at night. There are lots of great restaurants, cafes, and a few low-key bars in Naxos Town.
- As you travel farther south from Agios Georgios, the beaches become more secluded and the sand improves in quality. A few of the top beaches on Naxos include Plaka, Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, and Mikri Vigla.
- Most “seaside front” hotels in Naxos are not directly on the beach but are just across a small road from the coast. Still more sit inland a block or so away.
