Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge – Location

  • Location: Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge is perched atop a hill by Megali Ammos Beach on the edge of Mykonos Town, approximately a 13 to 20-minute walk from the nightlife, dining, and shopping that have made Mykonos renowned. Other nearby attractions that can be reached within a 16 or 19-minute walk respectively include the iconic Kato Mili windmills and Old Port. The Fabrika bus station is just a 12-minute stroll away as well, offering easy access to the island`s finest beaches, airport, and ferry terminal at Tourlos.
  • Reaching the Hotel: The accommodation is situated on a hill above the beach road connecting the Town of Mykonos to Ornos, making it simple to access via taxi or driving yourself, though it`s somewhat of a hike for bus travelers transporting luggage. It is approximately 5 km from the Mykonos ferry port in Tourlos, and 3 km from the Mykonos Airport.
  • To reach the hotel by bus, take the Fabrika-bound bus from the Airport or the Tourlos Ferry Port (AKA “The New Port”). These airport and ferry port routes run several times a day throughout the summer months but infrequently (if at all) in the winter. Fabrika is the closest official bus stop to the hotel, less than a kilometer away. The bus from the Airport to Fabrika Station takes approximately 15 minutes, while the bus from the New Port to Fabrika takes about 20 minutes; both trips cost around €2. Tickets are purchased on the bus or from a manned kiosk at the terminal, in cash only.

A limited number of taxicabs are also available for transportation from the port or airport to locations around the island, though only approximately 30 cabs serve the entire area. Because of this minimal number, passengers often experience quite a lengthy period of waiting. To prevent this delay, it is advised to pre-arrange transportation using a private vehicle service in advance (I have personally used and would suggest Welcome Pickups). Since the cabs on Mykonos do not utilize meters, be certain to agree upon a set cost with the driver before departing. The estimated fee for a ride from the port or airport to Bill & Coo is roughly €15-20. Scheduling with a private car service only costs somewhat more – about $38 (or €31) – but is worthwhile to bypass the wait and for the convenience of prepaying.

Visitors arriving by ferry can also take the Sea Bus from the New Port in Tourlos to the Mykonos Town waterfront, from where it is a 20-minute walk to the hotel. The Sea Bus departs every half hour, with the trip taking approximately 10 minutes and costing €2.

For those who prefer to drive themselves, we advise leasing a vehicle either at the airport on arrival, or in Mykonos Town. We strongly suggest reserving a motor vehicle in advance, especially if you require automatic transmission. Upon arrival at the hotel, Bill & Coo offers free parking (a major perk).

Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge – Local Transport

  • Walking: The hotel is situated just south of Mykonos Town on a hill overlooking the sea near Megali Ammos Beach. Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge is a brief walk to Megali Ammos beach and the village (Chora), where most of the island’s finest dining, nightlife, and shopping can be found. Little Venice and the windmills are 1 km away, the Old Port is 1.5 km away, and there are 2 excellent sunset viewing spots nearby at Boni’s windmill (1.5 km) and 180° Sunset Bar (2 km uphill). The road to and from town does not have a footpath and is rather busy with vehicles, so take care when walking, particularly at night. Nonetheless, most people do walk in this area, so drivers are accustomed to sharing the space with pedestrians here.
  • Bus: Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge is near the Fabrika bus stop, a walking distance of about 12 minutes away, which serves destinations like the New Port (Tourlos), Airport, and beaches at Ornos, Agios Ioannis, Platis Gialos, Paradise, and Paraga. There is also a bus stop located at the far end of the Old Port (2 km), considered the island’s primary bus station, that goes to places such as the New Port (Tourlos), Ano Mera village, and beaches at Kalafati, Agios Stefanos, Kalo Livadi, Elia, and Panormos. There is no bus connecting directly between Fabrika and the bus station at the Old Port; it takes approximately 15 minutes (1 km) walk from one location to the other. Ticket fares range from €1.60 to €2.30, depending on the destination. Buses can get very crowded, especially during peak season, so much so that they often reach full capacity and are unable to accommodate additional passengers. There are only 26 public buses serving the island. Bus timetables change every couple of weeks, so check the KTEL website for the most updated schedules.
  • Transport: The nearest taxi stand is at Fabrika next to the bus stop, less than a kilometer from the hotel, but generally fewer taxicabs travel through this region than at the main taxi stand, which is about 2 km away, near the Old Port, behind the Cosmote building and next to the post office. There is nearly always a delay at either taxi stand as there are only 30 taxis providing for the entire island. Pre-booking is recommended to circumvent the delay, and have the driver meet you at the hotel instead. There will be a surcharge for advanced reservations (about €5) and for transporting baggage, usually just a couple of Euros. A taxi from the port or airport to Bill & Coo Suites and Lounge should be about €15-20.
  • Driving in Milan, like any major city with medieval roots, can be complicated due to confusing roads layouts, expensive parking, and vehicle restrictions in popular areas. Fortunately, Milan has Italy`s best public transportation network of subways, buses, and trams to get you almost anywhere desired efficiently. Rideshare services like Uber also operate here along with taxis that usually stop when hailed from the sidewalk. In recent years, bike share programs have sprouted around town as another quick trip option. Often, walking will do just as well though, as Milan`s primary tourist zone is fairly compact – most major attractions are within a 20-minute radius from the Duomo in the city center.

  • Motorized vehicles: Scooters serve as the primary mode of transportation for locals, while all-terrain vehicles or ATVs hold great popularity among tourists, but for those unaccustomed to the landscape, these can prove to be highly hazardous to operate. The roads on the Greek island of Mykonos weave in zigzag patterns, travel up and down hills, squeeze through narrow passages, and contain many potholes, sometimes constituting dirt paths, with most regions outside of Mykonos Town lacking street lights. Plus there are aggressively reckless drivers to contend with, some of the world`s worst. Renting a car presents a much safer choice than a scooter or ATV, while likewise granting easy access to remote beaches across the island.
