Andronis Concept Wellness Resort – A family-friendly, wellness-focused hotel with private pools for each spacious suite, an impressive spa, and three shared pools.

The solitary retreat of its kind in Santorini offers an indulgent blend of privacy, mindfulness, and luxury. Suites and villas vary in size (from 35 to 160 square meters), all including private, heated plunge pools; villas each contain an equal number of restrooms as bedrooms. The three shared pools are uniquely designed: the spa`s unheated pool is the largest on the island permitting laps; the heated cave pool is sheltered from sunlight; and the heated infinity pool at Throubi restaurant features stunning caldera views. For families, special children`s yoga and spa programs are available in addition to cooking classes, tennis, and kids facilities within the suites and pool area. Menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant were curated by a nutritionist, featuring many healthy and delicious dishes utilizing ingredients grown onsite in their gardens and vineyard.

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort – Location

Area: Absolutely gorgeous location about a 15 minute walk from the heart of Imerovigli village. This quiet location offers more privacy than the hotels in the village center, along with stellar views of the caldera to the west, and the Aegean to the east.

Transportation by public buses always awaits at the ferry terminal for each arrival of ferries, as well as buses departing hourly from Santorini Airport. However, there are no direct buses from the harbor or airport to Imerovigli; buses from both locations go to Fira, where passengers must then board a different bus to Imerovigli – the entire journey from the port or airport to Imerovigli generally takes approximately one hour and costs around €5 total. Tickets are purchased on the bus using cash only. The bus stop is simply located 12 minutes away on foot, primarily downhill, and fairly straightforward to navigate with baggage.

The area about 1km east of Tha Phae Gate along the edge of the Old City may seem unappealing. There are abandoned shopping centers, burnt shops, and closed hotels. But every day around 4 pm, it comes alive. Changklan Road quickly transforms into packed stalls selling clothes, souvenirs, and other items. Some areas have signs promising “beer garden,” “night market,” and “food street,” but they are empty. Head directly to Kalare Night Market, where stalls sell lots of tasty food at low prices. Go to Anusan Market for clothes and souvenirs. Both places are opposite Le Méridien hotel.

For guests more comfortable operating their own vehicles, we suggest booking a rental car either at the airport upon arrival or in Fira. The roadway from the ferry terminal is steep and narrow with numerous tight turns, large trucks and buses. Best to allow the locals to handle the travel along that route. We strongly advise reserving a vehicle ahead of time, especially for automatic transmission needs. On reaching the resort, Andronis provides complimentary valet parking, a definite perk.

Andronis Concept Wellness Resort – Local Transport

  • Walking: The hotel is located just outside of the main village area in Imerovigli. Though it feels remote, the village’s restaurants, shops, and attractions are all within walking distance, 5 to 25 minutes away along the Oia-Fira hiking trail.
  • Public transportation: The closest bus stop is in the village of Imerovigli, a 12-minute walk from the hotel. Buses here serve all the major villages and beaches across the island, often requiring a transfer in Fira. Tickets are purchased on board and range from €1.80 to €2.50 per individual during the daytime, relying on the route. Night buses (12:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.) run less regularly and cost a little more, from €2.30 to €3.10. Buses can become very crowded, particularly during high season, so much so that they frequently fill to capacity and are unable to accept additional passengers. There are only 23 public buses serving the island.
  • Taxis: The closest taxi stand is located at Stathmos Taxi all the way in Fira, making it impractical to walk or take buses to reach it. Furthermore, with guests from approximately 1,000 hotels, villas, and Airbnbs on the island, there are usually only around 25 taxis serving the entire location (resulting in potential waits at this stand). It`s advisable to reserve a taxi ahead of time to avoid any delays, and arrange for them to meet you directly at your hotel. Small additional fees are commonly charged for advance reservations as well as for transporting luggage, typically just a few Euros. The average fare from Imerovigli to Fira is roughly €15, and from Imerovigli to the airport or port is around €25 to €35.
  • Motorcycles and scooters: Scooters are mainly how locals get around, but if you`re unfamiliar with the layout, it can be very dangerous. The roads here zigzag up and down hills with narrow lanes and no guardrails or streetlights in most areas. A lot of dirt roads and potholes too.
  • ATVs/Quads: ATVs are an enjoyable and popular method of transportation with visitors, but for the locals required to drive behind them, they maneuver too gradually and hold up traffic in an area where moving around is already challenging. For individuals who don’t routinely ride quads (i.e. most people), they can be risky at high speeds and on turns. Crashed your ATV is a guaranteed way to ruin your vacation.
