Hotel Review

The Bluetopia Suites provides a charming boutique lodging in Little Venice offering amazing perspectives from their over-the-sea balconies.

Bluetopia offers five well-appointed suites, four of which have dramatic seaside views of the windmills and sunsets, and one has a view of Paraportiani Church. Each suite features a private balcony, hydromassage shower, and Cocomat queen mattresses; 2 add steam showers with chromotherapy lighting. Though the hotel is surrounded by the island’s legendary nightlife, the suites’ soundproof windows keep everything super quiet.

Bluetopia Suites – Location

  • Location: Bluetopia Suites is situated in the Little Venice neighborhood of Mykonos Town, within a 1 to 9-minute walk of the nightlife, dining, and shopping areas that have made the island famous. Landmarks like the Kato Mili windmills, the Old Port, and even a small beach are accessible on foot within 2 to 10 minutes. The bus stop at Fabrika is only an 8 minute walk away, making it easy to reach the island’s best beaches, airport, and ferry port at Tourlos.
  • How to Reach the Location: Bluetopia Suites is situated in a pedestrian-exclusive zone at the tip of the Little Venice neighborhood and within a brief walk of the main road connecting Mykonos Town to the airport and ferry dock. It is approximately 4km from the Mykonos ferry port in Tourlos, and 3km from the Mykonos Airport to the hotel.

To reach the hotel by bus, take the Fabrika-bound bus from the Airport or the Tourlos Ferry Port (AKA “The New Port”). These airport and ferry port routes operate frequently during the peak summer season but less so (or not at all) in the winter months. Fabrika, in Mykonos Town, is the closest bus stop to the hotel, just an 8-minute walk (500m) away. There is also a bus stop at the Old Port, only 11 minutes’ walk (900m) to the hotel. The bus ride from the Airport to Fabrika takes approximately 15 minutes, while the journey from the New Port to Fabrika is just under 20 minutes. Each bus ticket costs about €2; they are purchased on board or from an attended kiosk at the terminal, paid for only in cash. The walk from Fabrika to the hotel follows a mostly level, though very winding, route.

Guests arriving by boat may also take the Sea Transportation from the New Port in Tourlos to the Mykonos Town waterfront, from which it is a brief walk to the accommodation. The Sea Transportation departs every half hour, covering the trip in about 10 minutes for €2.

Transportation via taxis can also be obtained from the port or airport, though only approximately 30 taxis serve the entire island, so there is often a lengthy delay; it is best to pre-arrange a private vehicle through a service like Welcome Pickups to avoid this. Taxis on Mykonos do not use meters, so be certain to agree on a cost with the driver before departing. A taxi ride from the port or airport to Bluetopia Suite will generally cost somewhere in the range of €15-20. Booking through a private car service will cost just a little more – about $38 (€31), but is worthwhile to avoid the wait and for the convenience of pre-paying
For those who prefer to drive themselves, we recommend renting a vehicle either at the airport upon arrival, or in Mykonos Town. We strongly advise reserving a vehicle in advance, especially if you require automatic transmission. Upon arrival in Mykonos Town, the hotel offers free valet parking (a huge perk). Contact the hotel in advance to arrange this.

  • Handy to: The Windmills of Kato Mili/Little Venice. Dining, nightlife, and shopping in the Chora. Old Port/Mykonos Town Beach.

Bluetopia Suites – Local Transport

  • Walking: The hotel is situated in the Little Venice neighborhood in Mykonos Town, merely steps away from the historical Paraportiani Church and the iconic windmills. The heart of the village (Chora) and the island’s best dining, nightlife, and shopping are within 1 to 9 minutes on foot, while the Old Port and beach are just a 2 and 7-minutes’ walk respectively, and 2 excellent sunset viewpoints are nearby at Boni’s windmill (600m) and 180° Sunset Bar (1 km uphill).
  • Transportation: The accommodation is near 2 transportation stops. The closest halt is at Fabrika, 500 meters away, servicing routes to the New Port (Tourlos), Airport, and beaches at Ornos, Agios Ioannis, Platis Gialos, Paradise, and Paraga. There is also a stop at the far end of the Old Port (900m) accessing the New Port (Tourlos), Ano Mera village, and beaches at Kalafati, Agios Stefanos, Kalo Livadi, Elia, and Panormos. No transport connects Fabrika and the station at the Old Port; it takes approximately 14 minutes to traverse the distance on foot between the two locations. Costs range from €1.60 to €2.30 based on the destination. Transport can become very crowded during high season, so crowded that capacity is sometimes reached preventing additional passengers. Only 26 public buses service the island. Bus timetables change every couple weeks, so consult the KTEL website for the current schedules.
  • Transport: The nearest transport stop is at Fabrika, adjacent to the bus stop, however there are usually less taxis traveling through this area compared to the primary transport hub, which is around 10 minutes on foot (750m) away, near the Old Harbour, behind the Cosmote building and next to the post office. There is nearly always a wait at either transport stop as only 30 taxis serve the entire island. Booking in advance can help avoid the wait, and having the driver meet you at the hotel instead will also help. There may be a surcharge for reservations made in advance (roughly €5) and for carrying luggage, usually just a couple euros. A taxi from the port or airport to Bluetopia Suites should cost around €15-20.
  • Waterway Transport: The New and Old Ports and several beaches are connected through an aquatic transportation system. The Sea Bus links the New Port and Old Port with routes running about every 30 minutes, all wheelchair accessible, and all €2 one-way per individual, while a Delos roundtrip costs €20. Water taxis also connect the southern beaches, with routes connecting the primary beaches at Ornos and Platis Gialos with the more distant beaches at Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise,Agrari, and Elia. An all-day, all-beach pass costs €20.
  • Motorized vehicles: Scooters serve as the primary mode of transportation for locals, while all-terrain vehicles or ATVs hold great popularity among tourists, but for those unaccustomed to the landscape, these can prove to be highly hazardous to operate. The roads on the Greek island of Mykonos weave in zigzag patterns, travel up and down hills, squeeze through narrow passages, and contain many potholes, sometimes constituting dirt paths, with most regions outside of Mykonos Town lacking street lights. Plus there are aggressively reckless drivers to contend with, some of the world`s worst. Renting a car presents a much safer choice than a scooter or ATV, while likewise granting easy access to remote beaches across the island.
