Santorini Airbnb, Villas, & Vacation Homes

Nine miles to the west of Downtown St. Petersburg is located St. Pete Beach, which boasts a splendid stretch of white sand lining the Gulf along with a blend of small independent businesses and more upscale resorts. One of the most iconic hotels in the region is the all-pink Don CeSar. Corey Avenue is at the heart of the neighborhood, lined with indie shops, art galleries, and seafood restaurants. There is not much in the way of attractions – the beach and the relaxed small-town atmosphere being the main draws here.

Elsewhere in the city centre, La Latina is known for its tapas bars (notably on Calle de Cava Baja), student night clubs and flamenco β€œtablao” venues like Corral de la MorerΓa, while LavapΓes features a multicultural scene and a small LGBTQ presence (particularly β€œbares de ambiente”, bars friendly to lesbians).

  • There are very few Santorini Airbnb with lakes. If it does have a lake then it’s probably just a accommodation in which case you’ll get a better rate booking straight.
  • Handy and trustworthy private transport from the Santorini airport or ferry terminal can be pre-arranged through Welcome Pickups.

  • Exercise great caution. I have encountered some Airbnb Santorini rentals that don’t truly offer accommodations – just photos taken from a website and re-posted as an Airbnb listing.
  • Very few Airbnb rentals have a caldera view as this land is nearly exclusively owned by hotels. If a Santorini Airbnb has the description β€œgreat views” it’s likely referring to the eastern perspectives, not caldera/volcano views.
  • A website recommends places to stay in Santorini, noting that Fira offers the most nightlife and shopping opportunities, Imerovigli provides the finest views and dining establishments, and Oia represents a moderate option between Fira`s activity and Imerovigli`s calm atmosphere.
  • Most Santorini Airbnbs are located near Kamari Beach or Perissa Beach – which is adequate but there are not many rentals near the picturesque towns of Fira, Oia, Imerovigli, or Firostefani (where I suggest most people should stay).
  • A common complaint I`ve heard about Airbnb (including from friends and readers) is that meeting the property owner to access the rental is often difficult and time-consuming. With a hotel, check-in is always simple. Arrive on your flight, take a taxi, go to the hotel, check in. Staying with Airbnb, expect a slow, troublesome process to start things off. To be fair, it rarely exceeds half an hour but it`s an undesirable way to launch your holiday.
  • If you require assistance with determining the place of a Santorini Airbnb (or any Santorini vacation rental) then post the link below and I’ll take a look. Though I don’t know many of the Santorini Airbnbs, by examining the pictures and the map I can generally make a good prediction on its actual location.
