Hotel Review

  • Bowl Restaurant Café: Menu featuring fresh, seasonal, local, organic juices, and superfoods. Mostly vegan, veggie, and gluten-free options with some light fish and meat dishes.

Myconian Korali is a modest yet upscale hotel perched on a hillside overlooking Megali Ammos Beach within short walking range of Mykonos Town. Private patios, most offering ocean views, come standard in all rooms. Higher tier rooms and suites add heated outdoor hot tubs or private swimming pools. The primary pool, individual pools, and saltwater therapeutic facilities in the spa are all filled with seawater. As a Relais and Châteaux resort, Korali emphasizes sourcing organic ingredients, freshly caught seafood and locally raised meats for their restaurant, sushi bar poolside eatery and breakfast buffet..

Myconian Korali – Location

  • Area: Myconian Korali sits on a hill above Megali Ammos Beach, about a 15-minute walk from the nightlife, dining, and shopping that has made Mykonos renowned. The landmark Kato Mili windmills and the Old Port are accessible within a 14 or 17-minute walk, respectively. The road into town is busy and has no sidewalk, but many travelers walk to and from town, so drivers are used to sharing the road with pedestrians. The bus station at Fabrika is only 10-minute walk away, making it a breeze to reach the island’s best beaches, the airport, and the ferry port at Tourlos.
  • Accessing the Property: Mykonos Riviera is situated along the main road connecting Mykonos Town to the ferry portage, rendering it very facile to reach by SeaBus, taxi, or driving yourself. It is roughly 700m from the Mykonos ferry station (New Port), and 5 km from the Mykonos Airport to the hotel.

To arrive at the hotel via bus, take the Fabrika-bound bus from the Airport or the Tourlos Ferry Port (AKA “The New Port”). These airport and ferry port routes operate several times daily throughout the summertime but infrequently (if at all) in the winter. Fabrika, in Mykonos Town, is the closest official bus stop to the hotel, just a 10-minute walk (800m) away. The bus from the Airport to Fabrika Station takes about 15 minutes, while the bus from the New Port to Fabrika takes about 20 minutes. Tickets cost about €2, and are purchased on the bus or from a manned kiosk at the terminal, in cash only.

Cabs are also available from the port or airport, though there are approximately 30 taxis serving the entire island, so there is often a long wait time; it is best to schedule a ride in advance through a private transportation service to avoid this (I personally use and recommend Welcome Pickups). Taxis on Mykonos do not use meters, so be sure to agree on a cost with the driver before departing. A taxi from the port or airport to Myconian Korali will cost around €15-20. Arranging transportation through a private service will cost just a little more – about $38 (or €31), but is worthwhile to avoid the wait and for the benefit of prepaying
For those who favor self-driving, we recommend renting a vehicle either at the airport upon arrival, or in Mykonos Town. We strongly advise reserving a ride in advance, particularly if you need an automatic transmission. Upon checking in at the hotel, Myconian Korali provides free parking (a major perk)

  • Nearby amenities: Megali Ammos Beach. The Windmills of Kato Mili/Little Venice. Dining, nightlife, and shopping centers in the Chora.

Myconian Korali – Rooms

  • Room Types: Inopos Room – Rinia Room – Panoramic Room – Onar Junior Suite – Phos Superior Room – Kynthos Junior Suite – Oria Superior Room – Aeon Superior Room – Theros Junior Suite – Emar Junior Suite – Era Junior Suite – Delos Junior Suite – Delos Premium Junior Suite – Armonia Suite – Ortigia Suite
  • Smoking Rooms: The hotel does not permit smoking inside any room types. Smoking is allowed on private outdoor terraces and in designated outdoor common areas.
  • Best Accommodation: The two nicest options for couples are the Armonia Suite and Delos Premium Junior Suite. Both rooms have panoramic ocean views towards sunsets from their private terraces. The Armonia Suite provides a private, heated, outdoor hot tub with more interior space in its one-bedroom layout. The Delos Premium Junior Suite also includes an outside hot tub but adds a private pool and more outdoor area with its more substantial terrace.
  • For Families: Myconian Korali welcomes guests of any age group and can arrange childcare upon request. The best selection for families is the Ortigia Suite with 2 bedrooms (1 with a king bed and 1 with 2 twin beds), both with private bathrooms. This spacious 120 sqm suite provides a separate living area, expansive sunset ocean view terrace, an outdoor heated jacuzzi, and an outdoor unheated pool.

Myconian Korali – Local Transport

  • Walking: The hotel is situated just south of Mykonos Town on a hill overlooking the ocean near Megali Ammos Beach. Myconian Korali is 1 km from Megali Ammos beach as well as Mykonos Town, where the majority of the island’s best dining, nightlife, and shopping opportunities can be found. Little Venice and the windmills are 1 km away, the Old Port is 1.5 km distant, and 2 excellent sunset viewing spots are nearby at Boni’s windmill (1.5 km) and 180° Sunset Bar (2 km). The road to and from the town does not have a footpath and experiences significant car traffic, so care is necessary when walking, especially at night. However, many people do walk in this area, so drivers are used to sharing the space with pedestrians here.
  • Public transportation: Myconian Korali is within easy walking distance of two bus stops. The closest stop is at Fabrika, a 10-minute walk (800m) away, which services destinations like the New Port (Tourlos), Airport, and beaches at Ornos, Agios Ioannis, Platis Gialos, Paradise, and Paraga. The second bus stop (viewed as the island’s main station) is near the end of the Old Port (2 km), offers connections to the New Port (Tourlos), hill town of Ano Mera, and beaches like Kalafati, Agios Stefanos, Kalo Livadi, Elia, and Panormos. There is no direct bus between Fabrika and the station by the Old Port; it takes approximately 14 minutes (1 km) to walk from one to the other. Ticket prices range from €1.60 to €2.30 based on the location. Buses can become extremely crowded especially during peak season, so much so that they often reach full capacity and cannot accommodate additional passengers. Only 26 public buses service the island. Bus schedules alter every couple weeks, so check the KTEL website for the most updated timetables.
  • Taxi: The closest taxi stand is at Fabrika next to the bus stop, about a 10-minute walk (800m) from the hotel, but there are usually less taxis traveling through this area than at the main taxi stand, which is about 2 km away, near the Old Port, behind the Cosmote building and next to the post office. There is nearly always a wait at either taxi stand as there are only 30 taxis serving the entire island. Book ahead to avoid the wait, and have the driver meet you at the hotel instead. There will be a surcharge for advanced reservations (about €5) and for transporting baggage, usually just a couple of euros. A taxi from the port or airport to Myconian Korali should be about €15 to €20.
  • Water Transportation: The New and Old Ports and several beaches are connected through a boat network. The SeaBus connects the New Port and Old Port with routes running about every 30 minutes, all wheelchair accessible, and all €2 one-way per traveler, while a Delos roundtrip costs €20. Water taxis also connect the southern beaches, with routes connecting the main beaches at Ornos and Platis Gialos with the more distant beaches at Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise,Agrari, and Elia. An all-day, all-beach pass costs €20.
  • Motorized vehicles: Scooters serve as the primary mode of transportation for locals, while all-terrain vehicles or ATVs hold great popularity among tourists, but for those unaccustomed to the landscape, these can prove to be highly hazardous to operate. The roads on the Greek island of Mykonos weave in zigzag patterns, travel up and down hills, squeeze through narrow passages, and contain many potholes, sometimes constituting dirt paths, with most regions outside of Mykonos Town lacking street lights. Plus there are aggressively reckless drivers to contend with, some of the world`s worst. Renting a car presents a much safer choice than a scooter or ATV, while likewise granting easy access to remote beaches across the island.
