Artemis Karamolegos is a charming contemporary winery located in Exo Gonia, Santorini. Established in 1952, the newly-refurbished winery yields 11 wines, some award-winning, with everyday, reasonably-priced tastings held in a beautiful courtyard environment with sea views – available with or without food pairings. (There’s indoor seating, as well.) Their outstanding on-site Greek/Mediterranean restaurant, Aroma Avlis, highlights fresh seafood alongside many delicious meat and vegetarian choices.

The winery is available daily from 11am to 8pm, with scheduled tours running hourly from noon to 6pm. Reservations are advised for tours and tasting experiences (and required if you want to pair your tasting with food), but walk-ins are also welcomed. Greek cooking classes are offered (solely by advance registration) and Artemis Karamolegos can also be booked for wedding ceremonies, but bookings must be made well in advance. There is a small parking area on site, and the winery is simply accessed by bus along the Fira-Kamari route. The bus stop is an easy 200 meter walk away, a brief distance but along a busy main road.
